Well put together, great video. It’s the first of yours I’ve seen but a lot of the things you said resonated with me. Having a real piano and being able to sit and write with a sound that I’ll never get tired of is inspiring and music always comes out, for me it’s a Rhodes but close enough. I’m making a video now on the Prophet-6, using it in a production, building a patch, and recording to tape. It’s been a great experience since I just recently got it, definitely a style synth with its own sound like you said about the OB-6, but the Rev2 is still intriguing to me as someone who learned to produce on a laptop, having the extra voices and flexibility could be really nice!
Hey man love your stuff. I’m aspiring to be in your position currently in your career. Would you be open to having a chat with me and help me push through some mental blocks and get my career going ? Cheers!
Al Schmidt says to just save up for the old microphones and don’t bother with newer ones. I’ve saved up for a u67 after 5 yrs and will take another few yrs for a 2nd one. I can’t wait till I have the a collection like Al said so I can finally start to record. Hopefully I’m not dead before I can start.
I had to laugh when you said your "good" guitar was a Mexican Telecaster. Mine for years has been a blue Mexican Stratocaster. I also use a cheap Ibanez bass although mine's a 5 string. I used to use my daughter's short scale 4 string Ibanez but when she moved out, she took it with her. Hmmm. Kids. I use Cubase 11 Pro for my DAW of choice and use the guitar and bass amp sims in the DAW. Nice studio and good video! Video is my weakness. I need to learn how to do it.
As someone who runs a monster pedal board I can see why others would absolutely hate dealing with it, it’s big, noisy, messy but it just means I can basically play the effects as instruments. To each their own
