i love these round tables, but not this one... i wish the moderator had let them talk instead of having to hit all of his questions, like when they are talking about how themes in their scores came to be, he just cuts them off to ask about their what they were listening at 17, like who cares, we are getting cool stories, and they are just cut off to ask a banal question.... more conversation and less Q&A
@PathPMusic
@PathPMusic 3 года назад
I'm in the middle of it and that's unfortunate to hear, because that's what I kind of felt after the 2nd question. it felt like he just wanted to make sure the questions got out, and not even connect with the moment. That's where the meat is, in the stories of legends like them. at some point with certain interviews, it's like, let the history run, especially if it has a clear flow of storytelling that's captivating. throw your questions away and let us relish, lol.
@juanita-dark
@juanita-dark 3 года назад
Yes, I noticed that. Ludwig was really engaged in talking about how his discovery of instruments in preproduction was pretty much shaping the actor's performances and character themes, and the interviewer kind of cut him off. I honestly wish they'd had more time to discuss things and elaborate. Tbh, I felt sometimes the interviewer was disinterested unless it was a direct response to his question. lol, No tangents allowed - and it hurt the conversation between the composers some.

@@NavajoIndianaJones Don't get me wrong. I like the score from Captain America: the Winter Soldier during the highway fight scene and Avengers: Infinity War when Thor shows up in Wakanda and the classic Avengers theme but overall in terms of the entire album, Black Panther wins in Marvel. DC has good scores too. Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight Trilogy and Aquaman which recently came out. I suggest checking those out.

@@tonatiuhnino3711 Winter Soldier theme is one of my favorites from the MCU along w/ the Avengers theme (especially Help Arrives track). DC might have more of the edge on scores due to TDK trilogy. TDKR soundtrack is amazing and the '89 Batman & '78 Superman are classics that rarely any other superhero soundtracks can achieve.

@@NavajoIndianaJones DC definitely has the edge when it comes to film scores. Anything Hans has done for DC is miles ahead of any Marvel score.

HR.... Awesome access to talented artists, great production value and THE MOST CARDBOARD INTERVIEWERS ON THE INTERNET. Nobody is asking for the interviewers to be deeply moved by what these guys are sharing but at least segue in a human manner. I can hear the motors engaging when this guy rotates his neck to address the next question. Jesus Christ it's so annoying to watch.

I never understand why they even need the interviewer guy in the room. Like just let these guys talk about their works with each other and it'll be far more interesting.
