A quick montage of how the composite panels are made for our Isuzu FTS fire truck. One step closer to having the shell and starting the internals!

Did you use epoxy resin to glue the panels together? And what type of caulking adhesive did you use to bond to the extrusions, in your next video. Good job it's a good looking rig!

Hi Rod, Personally we aren't sure of the exact product - the shop owner has the full professional set up, we are friends with them so they let us assist to keep the price down.

Interesting idea. Do you mind posting material used here? Cheers

Typically you do not want to use screws, rivets, nails, etc through the skins as it causes a 'point loads' where delamination of the skin can occur away from the foam core. There are very high strength epoxies/glues that you bond an 'L' bracket or cleat to and then screw through the cleat or L bracket horizontally into the carcass of cabinets. You never want to epoxy the cabinets directly to the floor panel as they will never be able to be removed without destroying the cabinets. Using L brackets or cleat they will be permanent unless ground/sanded off, but the cabinets will be easy to remove.

Nice work, what is the vacuum time?

It was about 8-10 hrs per panel from memory. We only assisted with the prep so we weren’t there for the whole process.

Why is it when I look for some type of exterior pannel or exterior siding video for cube van/truck or enclosed trailer or RVs. Its a bunch of stupid normally annoying music instead of some explaining what they are doing so others can learn. I can get an explanation on basically every method of construction on RU-vid but this type of work. Everyone has stupid music instead of a proper explanation.

Because not many people make them & we aren’t at liberty to share the company’s methods that were used.

@@fyd_adventure3049 Man I’m really sorry about that. That comment was started while another vid was playing and was in no way meant for you. Didn’t notice it posted here. 🤦🏻‍♂️
