@@dhoward405 Many versions exist : Abraham Erskine's used with Howard Stark's vita rays. Hydra's version used on Bucky, which we don't know how it was made. The one used on Isiah Bradley, probably made using Steve Roger's blood. Starks's version stolen by Bucky to make other Winter Soldiers, which was probably made from Steve's blood that he had. Russian version used on Red Guardian. We don't know anything about it's history. The one used by Bruce Banner. The one used by Ross on Blonskey, which he took out from a cylinder with Stark and Erskine's name on it. Doctor Nagel's version stolen by Karli Morgenthau.

I think you should have mentioned how Compound V is used in different age groups. Infants are more susceptible to the drug but not for adults which can be fatal, few of them did become Supers. I once read Homelander and the Seven were injected with Compound V even before they were born.

It’s also interesting to me that Vought marketed Homelander as an Alien who crashed on earth. If Vought marketed him like that, wouldn’t scientist, biologist, experts etc. would freak out?

I think the largest side effect is that Compound V can sometimes make the users make irrational decisions that are violent and inappropriate to others. This might explain why the Seven and the other heroes acted weird when they are not out in public.

They didn't make a perfected version for The Boys. They deliberately made a version that was reliable, middle of the road in terms of power and super-expensive, because they were worried about the military using it and wanted to make that impossible.

There was another comic book mini series called Psycho. The powers came from a drug, but less expensive, about $250k. So there are many more super powered beings.

There's a whole arc in the comic where the russian mob had version of compound V that can be set to explode on a certain radio frequency. The boys kidnapped the doctor and had him made a version of compound V for the boys that just gives them super human strength and durability.

Absolutely loved the prime series. I'd never heard of The Boys before so went in "blind". Tried to limit myself watching episodes to make the series last longer but no chance. It was just too good. For me I liked how the realisation hit Starlight that she wasn't born a super hero but made into one with Compound V. Her life was a lie.

Superman would wipe the floor with Homelander, But someone like Homelander getting his hands on kryptonite would be a lot scarier than Batman having kryptonite cause I have a feeling he’d waste no time in tearing Superman a part once he’s weakened but if he can’t get kryptonite then Homelander is basically Supermans bitch.

I’m glad you are going at little bit into the The Boys backstory/origin. I greatly enjoyed the characters an the mixed conflict, violence an absolute chaos. I wonder how many seasons they can get out of it? An just how close they are going to follow the graphic novels or comics if you will.

I'm just curious as to how Compound V gives such a wide variety of abilities: they all seem to have enhanced strength, agility and durability (except for Mesmer), but then things get weird. Queen Maeve seem to have all of those pushed to a very higher level, but A-Train is a speedster, Starlight has some level of light generation/control, and lastly The Deep has gills, and can talk to fish?

The Metal Gear Solid backstory, the TerraFormars, Steve Rogers Captain America, Hulk, OCP, etc, share one thing in common creating super soldiers to protect the wealth of the 1% hyper rich. The George Orwellian telltales are all there if paid attention to it. Can anyone imagine the pure tyranny of having a super power mercenary force controlled by a unaccountable corporation with economic social & political power that can influence aspects of life outside of it scary this is on par with Umbrella Corp business agenda.

Hated the fact that The Boys didn't know what Compound V was. A big part of the series is that they have it coursing through their veins. M.M was born with it cuz his mom worked in a factory that previously made the shit before packing up and hitting the road and leaving it uncleaned. The female drank a bucket of it when she was a baby.... unsupervised...and everyone else just got the injection. No notable powers apart from enhanced strength and a minor healing factor. Edit: the also know no PRIOR knowledge about any supes apart from what they discover because the supes are clumsy. Butcher: "Would have taken me forever to figure that out" No. Butcher would have already known that. A completely overlooked weakness... missed on Jimmy Fallon..... I'm not saying this live action series was bad, just wasn't that great in comparison. In all honesty I saw this series being advertised last year and heard that there was a comic it was based off of. And read it all in time to binge the series. Slightly disappointed.

Colin Mckoy While although I agree I’m honestly looking forward to the series for that reason alone, the fact that it’s different to the comics but yet still slightly sticking to source material. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for season two as I truly wonder how they’ll work with the twists they’ve created, such as Mothers Milk and his origin. I like to imagine this rendition of The Boys is set in a parallel universe which opens up for a whole lot more characters and events; if I’m honest I wasn’t a big fan of the Black Noir twist and quite excited that the show differs from the comic by this.

That's what make the show so good. It follows the comic slightly while going on it's own path. That's what makes it so great. And I see marvel has been doing that too. I just need DC to do that and they could finally be great. Edit:they tested it with shazam and aquaman and look what happened. A good movie.

The Seven should be used as DLC characters in the future Mortal Kombat 12 game.
