Computer glitch by Carnival, denies me boarding in Australia 

Yeah waiting on Consulate who sent me away with email address for emergencies at the moment

Ultimately it is, but as you alluded, You check in 2 weeks in advance with either an acceptable one, or one known will be no good…mine was the latter Easy catch for even the simplest of software programs to flag and not give me boarding document suggesting I was clear Also I was within 6 months for start of cruise strengthening idea even further I was clear to travel

Obviously they do, it would be insane to think otherwise…The point is, the most rudimentary software can identify a date …The glitch was that it DIDN’T identify the passport as not qualifying…in the end it’s ALWAYS going to be on the customer, never the corporation as they legally have all their bases covered But as a Corp. that cares about the well being of their consumer…a simple fix in software by IT would have flagged the problem when I entered it two weeks earlier and 1/2 a world away THAT is where the frustration lies, yes it always ends w the traveler…but if you are a TRAVEL company, you know infinitely more than someone who has only made one other international trip and should be prepared for situations like this, much more so than the consumer imo

So far so good, USA coming through with 1 year temporary passport

Thanks it’s almost 4am here so can’t do anything now with US Embassy, but will as soon as they open

Probably, just annoyed Carnival can’t tell me two weeks ago when I entered my documentation…. When it’s fine to start and you say NOTHING, you leave idea all is well When people make a trip like this once a lifetime. You gotta be better, but goes both ways I know

💯! Inexcusable they have software that can’t identify my passport wouldn’t be eligible…but can wait until I spend thousands of dollars and fly half way around the world…to then be told
