CS and analytics major here. I was originally only interested in data science but I am also considering software engineering now because of how much I enjoy developing software. By the way, great video!
struggle it's a normal but being programmers you need to understand and memorize all about data procedures, i actually considered taking computer engineering not only software but having a basic circuits and electronic. Its really hard when it comes of hardware and software.
MIQL, that's a lot for this video! It's very helpful! I would like a part 2 of the different CS careers, please? Careers such as Machine Learning Software Engineer, Data Administrator, etc... Info such as job growth and job satisfaction, demand, how much experience you need to get in, salary, etc... would be so helpful too. Thank you!
Hey Michael! I am a new incoming transfer student at UCSD, and my major is computer science! I am so happy that you uploaded this particular video for explaining these great potential careers for us.
@@charliewang2u I’m scared. I have a 4.0 transfer gpa for CS. On paper I look excellent. But tbh, I’ve struggled so much in my CC classes…. taking FOREVER to complete assignments Im afraid that if UCSD CS would be too hard for me. Idk if I should even go if I get accepted. Afraid of dropping out. Im slow asf bro. Average intellect but great work ethic. Thoughts??
Software engineer vs software developers there ARE NO difference... my job title is a software engineer but I have no degree (got the job thru coding bootcamp) they’re literally the same thing. Think of the word “software Engineer “ as a major MALL and inside that mall you have stores aka “web developer, database analysis, ML , etc..” I’m 21 btw:).
I think it’ll give you some good foundational knowledge on management! In terms of recruitment, since it’s only a minor it won’t be a massive deciding factor on a resume in my opinion, but it can’t hurt. Additionally, it’ll depend on the “manager” role you want. So directly managing people comes with experience, so you likely won’t land a people manager role directly out of college. But roles like program manager (which manage the project/program/product, not people) are definitely attainable right after college. Hope this helps!
Your videos are very helpful thanks. Also, you explained why you got your cast, but not why you got wrist surgery (sorry for the spoilers to anyone watching)
Ya I think that could be a good combo, but it’ll depend on what you want to go into! You could also just do a major in CS and a minor in business, because a double major can take longer to graduate
I am not super familiar with self-driving engineering, but I would probably first determine if you'd be more into the software engineering or the mechanical engineering side of it. I found some courses if you want to take a look into them and potentially learn more about it: Coursera: www.coursera.org/collections/become-a-self-driving-car-engineer Udacity: www.udacity.com/course/self-driving-car-engineer-nanodegree--nd013 I know it isn't much, but I hope this helps!
This has nothing to do with the video but (I did come for the video and it was great) I knew you looked like someone and I couldn’t put my finger on it. Until light bulb.. you kinda look like Ted bundy. I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
