I adore these "remote" segments Conan does. I'm a bit of a curmudgeon when it comes to humanity. I'm only 32...but I've already had my fill of human beings and their insanity. But....whenever I'm feeling kinda down, nothing cheers me up like a Conan remote. He's so good at them....he brings out the best in people and shows the humor in human absurdity, especially when he's around people who take themselves FAR too seriously. Conan remotes remind me that life is alright. :)
***** This s because most american live off easy money that has arrived from some "lucaritive" business ventures just like their government's invasion of Iraq,Afghanistan or some minor portfolio investments into Saudi/middle eastern oil, etc.etc... At least us immigrants do deserve a lower interest rate upon such capital..
What is the bitch for? They're spending their money in this country, in their state, in their community. The majority of people who immigrated to this country did not speak English, yet they managed to overcome the language barriers and built their lives from scratch.
Hey! that was my trainer when I started as a Field Service Technician for Adelphia back in 2001... It's a small world, I haven't heard from him since I went to Charter Communications.... I'm glad to see he's still around.
Maybe they have children or friends who've lived in the US for a long time and they helped them to buy a house and maybe getting the citizenship. I know a Mexican couple whose children have lived in the US for some years and they manged to get their parents the US citizenship. Now they live 6 months in Mexico and 6 months in the US and I'm pretty sure they don't speak a single word in English.
drew r future of america right there, spanish will be the primary language in the year 2030. When Russia or China or North Korea is causing trouble again our President Jose Maria Jesus Lopez will ship them crack cocaine or marijuana via illegal immigrants in hoping they comply with our rules.
I like how other people are getting mad at people for saying at least speak the basic sentences of the language of the country they decide to live, like thats so wrong. I understand there are reasons why a person may not speak the language you can be a situation like two people decide to come to this country to build a life and drag another family member who didn't really ask to come,or maybe they just came to the country. But if you come hell bent on building a life, is it hard to ask to learn the basics of the language?I've been in situations where someone is supposed to be providing customer service and I've only ever understood one word that they told me. Then people turn around to look at you like you're ignorant because you don't speak a second language if you say something. Yes more and more people are coming into the country and no I'm not saying that they're not allowed to come but now you're making it seem like i'm the bad guy. I'll learn a language because I want to not because I'm forced to, that's why I'm learning Mandarin now. How I look going to China to conduct business and don't speak a lick of mandarin/Cantonese and they get frustrated with me I can't get mad at them at the end of the day.
Jon Drake Interesting how innocuous comments can be completely misunderstood online. I didn't even think that far when I wrote it. No ill will towards Conan intended.
I mean if they're living in the U.S. then they should really know at least basic english... :/ it seemed like they couldn't even understand simple sentences
Angelica Fenn in America, its all about the $$$$$.. you don't have to speak the language, but the land is a great investment. bc i've lived in Flushing NYC. and some restaurant doesn't even speak Cantonese or English. just taiwanese
Angelica Fenn Maybe they just have a second home in the US you know.. My grandparents had a second home in Greece but don't speak Greek. There's a certain point where your brains just won't absorb another language. They know the basics of the thank you's and please's and the how are you doing's but they don't really speak it.
ChillChannel They have jobs that can provide for that house. Its a competitive market and most Americans aren't taking advantage. Sucks for you guys :D
why does it concern u people if they know the language or not. They're obviously getting by without it..and you dont know their life story maybe they came to America a week before the show was filmed
Your grammar is fucking horrific, so you shouldn't even consider judging others for being unable to speak English! What do you mean where did they get the money from? You think people outside of the USA don't know how to earn money or something? For all we know they could own a business in Armenia and own a home in the USA.
nice, put your subscribe annotation so far at the top of the video that we *almost* cant press the button to minimize it, dislike and no chance of a sub, from me.
How do you survive in a country for extended periods of time, without knowing the local language? Actually: how do you survive anywhere without English? It's not my first language and I'm not living in an English speaking country either, but how do you find a job and opportunities without it? Without English your are utterly unemployable. Even from a recreational standpoint, this seems so bizarre. They must be coal miners entertaining themselves with dolls they fashioned from bones and scraps of clothes. How does this work?
