Brother I'm impressed. I've have gotten so much out of this. Dusted the cobwebs off my old Geometry. Yup, Hexagon...base foundation for all strategy, board,, war games ..goes back years. Love this absolutely love this. You speak clearly and cleanly.

Most videos I was looking at was talking about using smaller central circles. Yours points out that a larger central circle will allow more squares. This is the tip I I was looking for. Thank you :)

its late 2018 now and i can say... you probably still have the best 1st timers cylindrical towers tutorial eva!!!

A bit new to the game so I enjoyed seeing these mechanics in play. My thoughs on stability for the larger tower might be handled by making a "sandwich" of walls for the stairs. Place walls on both sides the of the staircase, with doorway arches where you want levels. You could even double the size of the staircase if you wish. As this may "waste" a bit of space, you can also place extra doorways to access those spaces and use them for storage or entry points to outdoor walkways or balconies. This makes the standard ancient tower effect and increases the internal stability of the enclosed areas. You may still need pillars but you could do slanted ones off the internal walls to help with that. Add platforms on the outside for observation and archers, and hey maybe a nice altar on top and boom, decent standard ancient fantasy tower of sorcery.

This was really helpful. I got screwed up as you did. What helps is to go around with 1 piece and preserve your center. I also tried using a different block type (wood maybe) for the center pieces that helped a,lot with keeping my center. I always mess up the roofs too. :)

Thanks man that was very good explanation of building round structures. I kept running into problems where my triangle and square foundations would not intersect correctly. I think if I stick to your pattern I shouldn't have any trouble.

All I have to say about this is.... *YOU ROCK* If I had hair my floor would look like the end of the day at a barbershoppe with the stress building causes me in this game😣 I loved the building in Fallout4,but without mods its restrictive, where this is "Build where & what you want.." right outa the box(within reason). But it has a lot it doesnt tell you like the damn stability. Id be building for hours & then *BAM!* That 1 stupid piece that'll go ANYWHERE else, but where YOU want it. Subbed....You rock man🤘 And youre easy to understand. Thank you,VERY much👍🤝

Wanted to do a circular tower with an exactly fitting circular wall arround it, this has helped me a lot the method is really great. The tipps on stability are a bit wanky but thankfully there are other tutorials who discuss this in depth. Adressing this here wouldve unnecessarily stretched the video anyway. Thx man

Wish I had of found this video before I did my build, I did something similar to this, but I just kept expanding out with square foundations, result is the square foundations take up 1 block of the walls, and the triangles take up like 3(or 5, I forget now). I had basically done as you built the smallest tower, but then expanded it. Oh well, next time :) Good video, gonna check out your others.

So judging by how long ago this video was made I'm sure you probably already know this but in case you don't or anyone else is reading the comments simply press (control, shift, alt & f10) doing this then puts you into a creative mode where you've got unlimited of whatever your placing... I really wish you'd shown how to scale the stairs into the larger foundations. It's a great method, and it should be simple to figure out how to scale it, but those of us with awful spacial relations don't fare so well. ^^

lord, my first attempt was a disaster. But I didn't know about needing the space to be totally flat. So my circle was 3/4 as it wouldn't let me lay any foundations on the high side of where I attempted. Thank goodness im not keeping this base, I'll be going to better farming areas off the main water inlet at the start once I'm 40ish and making steel/hardened steel. Good vid man, I would never have figured out the bigger circle, tower build.

I did on like that, but I used full ceilings instead and connected stairs on a triangle foundation using a wall to snap.

How do I build stairs for a larger tower? I used the same method for the inner layer of my tower as your small, but did one extra square to make it a bit longer, so that means more wedges to fill the space, and not I can't build the stairs along the outside wall. I have a wheel of pain in the middle, so that kinda ruins doing the stairs in the middle, too.

How did you get the stability to work with those bigger footprints? The center is too weak to place for levels in the tower?

im having trouble making a ceiling floor for a 1st floor. the last 6 wedge ceilings in middle for the 1st floor wont place. i tried placing a pillar but didnt work. is it possible?

For future reference, if youre gonna use the admin panel anyways, just put all your points into encumberance. So you can just hold all that you need.

Is it any good to build in tier two if it’s just a side base that serves a certain purpose, not a main base, just something like a fish base

Hi thanks, my first 3 levels went fine, but the ceiling on the next 3 up having trouble with wedge to close the centre, I built pillars all the way up but the pillar is going on top of the pillar not covering over and following the pattern like I did with first 3 level.
