this song is literally PREACHING. parents are always like, “oh when i was a kid we would constantly be outside while your generation stay cooped up inside all day” when if we want to go anywhere they have to come with us and know exactly why we want to go. when my mom was a teenager she would never tell her mom anything and would constantly sneak out. but now we’re forced to have life360 and if we get in trouble for sneaking out they yell at us as if they didn’t do the exact same thing.

I’m not even Generation Y and I still relate to this so much. There’s so much disdain for young people it’s honestly getting pretty ridiculous. If you don’t have faith in us and tell us we’re “helpless, selfish” and “get into trouble” you’re not exactly setting us up for success.
