I don't know who Matt Gourley is, but he now has my eternal respect for knowing all the actual words to the Ewok Celebration song. I would *so* be up for an all-day Star Wars viewing and slumber party at Matt Gourley's house. I would buy special PJs to wear and bring a *lot* of food. Fun fact: in the original “Yub Nub” Ewok song, there is a single English line translation of the last line. As it’s hitting the crescendo and it’s all the characters in one shot, the lyric repeats and morphs from Ewok to English, saying “Celebrate with love.” It always felt nice that that phrase is the Rosetta Stone of the Ewok language :)

I grew up the town over from conan, and when (1993) I heard this kid from Brookline was taking over and would have host a late night show I was full in. I loved it. He was quick-smart, hilarious, and a really good interviewer for his age then. But, in all honesty...I've never seen him better than what he's creating now. Top of his game. All of them.

That VHS copy of yours isn't the same a what Matt has. It's a whole community effort to gather bits and pieces to create a high def version of the original movies. They use computers, insert from various sources like laser disks and what not!

2006 dvd set has the original Theatrical version on the bonus disks. they were taken directly from the laser disks as the source material.

Yeah, but the OG DVDs are hard-matted, so they're not even 480p because most of that is made up of black widescreen bars. The full HD, fan-made Harmy Despecialized editions that Matt is talking about are the only sensible way to watch the orig trig these days.

For those of us who saw the original trilogy in theaters (Yub Nub included), we absolutely detest the special editions from '97. They just took away some of the magic, like showing Jabba the hut prior to his first appearance in "Return of the Jedi", completely ruins one of the most unexpected and awesome reveals of a villain in movie history. - Nerd out!
