At 2:28 = "Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it." "No one, not even you will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died." "All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important!" "Valor pleases you, Crom. So grant me one request:" "Grant me revenge!" "And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!" Utterly...EPIC.
I've listened to hundreds of film scores, but the segment between 1:51 and 3:15 might be my favorite bit of score of all time. Reminds me of.....THE DAYS OF HIGH ADVENTURE.
@@ultracarterzilla6939 It kind of is. Listen here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1lKUYAnqxjU.html&ab_channel=JokerRecordings at 3:35 and above at 3:30
Conan put his back against the wall and lifted his ax. He stood like an image of the unconquerable primordial-legs braced far apart, head thrust forward, one hand clutching the wall for support, the other gripping the ax on high, with the great corded muscles standing out in iron ridges, and his features frozen in a death snarl of fury-his eyes blazing terribly through the mist of blood which veiled them. The men faltered-wild, criminal and dissolute though they were, yet they came of a breed men called civilized, with a civilized background; here was the barbarian-the natural killer. They shrank back-the dying tiger could still deal death. Conan sensed their uncertainty and grinned mirthlessly and ferociously. "Who dies first?" he mumbled through smashed and bloody lips.
Who is Conan the Cimmerian? He is - Basil Pouledoris, Frank Frazetta. Roy Thomas, Barry Smith, John Buscema, John Milius, Dino DeLaurentis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ralf Moeller, Jason Momoa, Richard Fleischer, Mako, Gerry Lopez, Sandahl Bergman and....most of all....Robert E. Howard.
The bandit Vladislav Olgerud rode his horse up to the man on the cross. He exclaimed to his fellow rogues: "Queen Taramis must be getting rid of all her old favorites, including," with a nodding smile to the crucified Cimmerian, "This dying dog!" Conan, shaking the blood and sweat from his eyes, growled: "If I could come down off from this cross, I'd make a dying dog out of you....you Zaporoskan thief!" Robert E. Howard "A Witch Shall Be Born" (1934).
The best part of that moment is not only is Valeria fulfilling her promise that even in death she would come back to fight at his side, she's also depicted as a mythologically ACCURATE Valkyrie: The Valkyries weren't badass warriors. They were the glint of the sun on your opponent's sword shining in your eyes, or your bootlace coming undone and tripping you, or that moment you overextended your strike, leaving you off-balance, all of those small misfortunes on the battlefield that gave your adversary the opening they needed to kill you. And that's EXACTLY what Valeria does: She doesn't kill Rexor for Conan. She makes his strike go wide and blinds him in a critical moment, saving Conan's life, and gaining him the opportunity to recover and kill Rexor himself.
viva larevolucion And it can't be reversed once they go through the "Riddle of Steel" stage. If your child figures out the Riddle of Steel it's best just to let him go........oh he'll be alright....worry more for the people that piss him off.
Syphon Filter ok I know this is all fun n games but seriously my boy whos 8 heard this for the first time today and gave me a look like he was ready for his first murder mission, and he grew a stache.
@natureadventurist Totally agree with you. The music has such an honorable and noble feel to it. Just can't bring myself to pick just one of the songs as a favorite, thank goodness for the entire soundtrack. ✌🙂👍

"When I die I shall go to a realm of barren hills and icy winds. The harsh sun will hang high in the bright sky. And there I shall stand wearing wolf furs, burnished armor, leather sandals laced to the knee and a gleaming helmet wielding a short sword and spear as my enemies in life come charging at me on horseback. And then there will be a battle that will reverberate throughout eternity." - Robert E. Howard
Always was a moving piece. I only tear alittle after my brother like cousin died years ago. Somehow this always reminds me of him and as far as I know Andy never liked Conan the Barbarian. wierd.
Crom, I have never prayed to you before, I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought or why we died. All that matters that two stood against many. That's what's important. Valor pleases you, Crom...so grant me one request. Grant me revenge. And if you do not listen, then to hell with you
He didn't tell god to fuck himself. He told Crom to fuck himself. However, I'm under the impression that it takes an even more awesome type of badass to tell a god like Crom to fuck himself while actually beating him to death. And no, Kratos doesn't count because of how weak sauce the Olympians were in the God of War Universe. Asura is much closer since Chankravartin had Solar System levels of reality warping, but I was referring more to Universal level reality warpers.
2:33 Crom! I’ve never prayed to before, I have no tongue for it. no one, not even you will remember if we were good men or bad, why we fought and how we die, No....... all that matters is two stood against many, that’s what important. Valor pleases you Crom, so grant me one request, Grant me REVENGE!, and if you do not listen..... THEN TO HELL WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!
...and the realm was defended by tall men with broad shoulders and bare upper bodies, wielding huge weapons of cheap plastic and riding steeds of wood and rubber
