I remember reading the first issue in 1970. What a great series! SWIORD and Sorcery Soon after in 1971 Kull the Conquerer. BOTH terrific comics.

Comicstorian is beginning to tackle Conan comics JUST as I'm beginning to listen to the original Robert E. Howard stories that started it all (from the 1930s) and they're SO FUCKING GOOD. I hate the "swords and sorcery" genre (always have) but I'm totally sucked into these stories. Highly recommend it...

Not really. He's a completely normal human, no super powers, just a badass warrior from an age long past. Also he was created in the 1930s(1932), so the character actually predates Marvel.
