My grandfather worked at this brewery, one shift he fell into a massive vat of guinness, his co-workers jumped in to try and save him but he fought them off bravely.

I went to the Guiness brewery there in Dublin in 2008 and still remember everything that was shown in the video. I also remember that your tour ticket got you a free drink at the end of the tour. The bar at the end of the tour had Guinness in addition to non-alcoholic drinks but what really got me was the fact that you could get a Bud Light or a Fosters. Who the hell comes to Dublin, goes on the Guiness tour and then decides to have a Bud Light? 😂

2:48 with the Chinese guy: Conan: "Guess who I am?" John: "Like... Tie Ling TV?" Haha! I guess no body's getting this joke, unless you grew up in China and were born in the 90s. "Tie Ling TV" is a reference from a comedy sketch in the 2008 Chinese New Year gala, featuring hugely popular Chinese comedians Zhao Ben Shan and Song Dan Dan. In the sketch, an old couple (played by Zhao and Song) were chosen to be the Olympic torch bearers to represent their tiny village called Tie Ling (literally means iron hill). At the end of the sketch they were doing a live interview, and got to thank the TV channels. Instead the obvious ones like CCTV (Chinese national broadcast), they thanked the smallest TV station instead, their local TV station, Tie Ling TV. So "Tie Ling TV" means some TV nobody has heard of. John was really saying "so looks like you are famous to some people, but not me."

Do not try to visit the brewery.The only thing you will remember is standing in line.Go to a pub and meet some great Irish people and have a few drinks.

I did both. The Guinness Brewery tour was okay. Many of the people on the tour were from the other parts of Europe and the US. It's a tourist spot and brings in revenue for Dublin. Yes, you're correct about the pub. We started at the Brazen Head....and added my dollar to it's wall. We later hit a few other spots. Spent the next few weeks circling the country in a rental car. Each night a new pub and new friends....except County Wexford. We had so much fun with the folks we met, we stayed and extra night. Ireland is a beautiful country and I was sorry to have to leave. I'm looking to return next year. I can't wait.

Darth Irish Problem? Reread what I wrote. I spent an extra night because I was having fun. I stayed at a B&B and met some nice folks at the pub downstairs and we chatted, and drank Guinness all night then had breakfast in the morning. I had planned on leaving that afternoon but decided to stay an extra night because they were all staying as well. We met up again that second night and in the morning. Also, imagine my surprise when I seen there was a JFK celebration going on. I thought JFK may have meant something else in Ireland but sure enough, they were celebrating John F Kennedy and family around the Dombrode (sp?) ship. To think I only decided to stay there because I couldn't find a place to stay in Waterford. It was a nice hidden gem.

I can so relate to Conan. I visited the Guinness Brewery and the Old Jameson Distillery in Dublin because I had spent all my money in pubs and I wanted free drinks for my hangover... Instead I learned all about the making of the stuff I wanted to drink while trying not to puke.

I went there a few years back and OMG, it absolutely blew me away. It is an absolute must for anyone visiting Dublin. I cannot express just how much there is to see and enjoy in there !!

My great great great (etc) grandfather was on the Mayflower when it came to Plymouth, in fact -- he was an Irish indentured servant who stowed away to escape his sentence, got caught by the Puritans when they were halfway across the Atlantic, and was kept in irons the whole trip. True story.

Why do so many seem to think the people in a world famous tourist spot in Ireland were all Irish? Those people in the bar are tourists. Conan is known here and people think he's hilarious, look up "Conan Trinity Award", he got an honourary award of some sort from Trinity College and the room was packed. I think that's why he was here at the time.

My favorite beer hands down. And I say that coming from a family of Corona and Heineken drinkers. My dad went to Dublin on a business trip in the late '90s and he described the pint like drinking a chocolate milkshake. I MUST make a pilgrimage to this magical place. God bless the Irish!

I'm from Dublin and the Irish are kings of sarcasm. Everytime i go to America they don't get my sarcasm at all. That girl was clearly told to be serious. And the horse and cart going past at the beginning was hilarious. You would only see them in the tourist parts of Dublin the same way you only see them in the tourist parts of Manhattan.

I went on a few dates with lovely Irish ladies while visiting Ireland; one of my dates (we'll just call her 'Ms. Guinness') had tickets to the brewery and I remember being pleasantly surprised to see Conan's photograph on the wall. I do miss Ms. Guinness some days, though. :( In any case, I can always lean on a little Conan to make my day.
