The US Open Cup is the Oldest soccer tournament in the US its the same like the FA Cup in the England, the FA way older still, but US Open Cup is sorta dead they should hype it up more like the MLS Cup

You have to be a bad football fan or a very new football fan if you didn't know this and by "this" I mean how the tournament works, it's like most confederation tournaments. About the MLS teams winning the league, US open cup or whatever she talked about related to the MLS isn't important at all, so I don't know why it's on this video in the first place. After all the whole point of the video was to explain the CCL not to explain the CCL and only the MLS out of all the leagues in the tournament. If any league were to be explained or talked about it in the video it would have to be Liga MX as they've won every year for a decade now and are essentially the reason why CONCACAF is better than other confederations. Honestly speaking if Liga MX were to be in CONMEBOL, CONCACAF would without a doubt be joint worst or the worst confederation on earth no exaggeration, they've even gotten second place in Libertadores multiple times and keep in mind that their league and cup winners/ runners-up go to the CCL meanwhile they send bad clubs to the Libertadores and they've still ended up in multiple Libertadores finals.
First four places in the first tournament of liga mx, gets in concacaf champions league, copa libertadores is first two three of the second tournament that isn't already in concacaf champions league.

And if the same team wins both the supporters shield and the MLS cup who gets the second spot? The second place team in the supporters shield or the runners up in the MLS cup?

Atlanta united won last years mls cup and this years Lamar hunt cup the Supporters shield goes to Lafc and nycfc conference opposite of the shield cup winner and for this years mls cup TBD until nov 10th

To add further complications, non-Europeans view their respective Champions Leagues as a qualifier for the World Club Championship, whereas the Europeans see their Champions League AS the World Club Championship and the real World Club Championship as an annoying thing they've go to go to Japan for in December. This means that the World Club Championship is seen as not that big of deal and sort of ruins the competition in what could otherwise be a great tournament.
I would say that's a pretty fair assessment. Don't know about the rest of Europe but in England there was very little interest when Manchester United became the only English World Champion to date. While England notoriously is slow to enthuse to competitions, [The early years of the World cup were ignored and The English League's opposition to the European cup had an indirect impact on ManU's involvement in the Munch air disaster] There is a general feeling that winning the UEFA Champions League makes you the best in the world and playing the World club cup is a glorified series of friendlies. Indeed I can see a time where teams from outside Europe get invited to the UCL rather than the world cup becoming more popular.

Nope they cannot, they can only get in via the canadian championship which is the same to the US Open Cup. Its the only way they can get in and it's really dumb. Toronto did not go for winning the the MLS cup they went for winning the dumb canadian championship which only has 3 top tier teams.
@@gbroyce55 Update: The winner of the Canadian Championship (Three MLS teams plus eight CPL teams plus the champions of the PLSQ and L1O, with the possibility of more teams) qualifies for the Champions League. Then if a CPL team is one of the top six in the CONCACAF League, that team also qualifies.
@@juliansmith4295 yep and all of that changes (as long as they don't change it for a third time) in 2023/2024 with the MLS Canada teams being able to qualify via MLS and Leagues Cup.
Good video but champions league seems to be really emphasised as a qualifier for the club world cup whereas for most teams winning the champions league is the highest honor whilst the world club cup is a bit of a distraction
+MexNYG93 overall the players on that Chinese club are bad China doesn't produce good footballers but what made America loose was Robinho, Paulinho and the chinese goal keeper not a bad keeper plus nobody likes America I would rather have had Monterrey or Cruz Azul qualify and their not even my favorite teams
