" If you have decided to give the highest value to entertainment, then the mind says close the book and go to your mobile phone because that will give you entertainment."
The crisis is of values. We have taken all kinds of nonsensical things as important. Things that have zero values, we have imbibed them as valuable. Question your values, write down all the things that you take as important, then objectively with all your brain power ask yourself, Are these things really important?
"Having the right desire is the problem, having the right values is the Problem, Concentration is not a problem" crisis is of value, we do not know what is really important - AP
"concentration is a problem bcoz we lives loveless lives". "Whatever you value you find yourself concentrated there and if you can't concentrate at the right places you have to question your values". -Ap
If you have decided to give the highest value to entertainment, then the mind says close the book and go to your mobile phone because that will give you entertainment Your mind will go where your values are.You need to value the right desire. You need to put your time where your real value is.
First of all, are you concentrating on the right thing? It is that thirst that expresses itself in lack of concentration. See what you really want and then there will be no need to practise concentration. The crisis is of values. We do not know what is important. We have taken all kinds of nonsensical things as important. Things that have zero value, we have imbibed them as valuable. Question your values. Write down all the things you take as valuable. And then objectively, with all your brain power, ask yourself "are these things really important?" There are so many things that you get irretrievably into. The process is one-way.
The reason we feel distracted and can't concentrate on our goals is because our goals itself are not what we are aiming for , suppose we are studying just because we can get a fat salary some day in corporate job and then enjoy , our mind tells us if entertainment is the ultimate value we are seeking in the end , then why not now you should indulge in it, we must thoughtfully enquire upon our goals and values.
Yes.. mind don't understand our dirty logic that if we study we will get salary...it just sees salary and that enjoyment is the main goal..now it is only filled with thoughts of enjoyment ...everywhere what we se is that kind of enjoyment which has no connection with studies....they are tottaly different things..."you are studying computer science .Why?" .... "Because I want to visit Maldives for a trip, I want to purchase a latest iphone, I want this I want that "....if this is the issue then concentration will never come. Because concentration is never a problem..Having the right desire is the problem.

Concentration issues due to loveless life we all are living right now, we all are running behind money for entertainment , and ultimate goal is entertainment that's why we are distracted always in our life from the right goal or right thing to do, so give values to right things in life not give value to useless things.
There is trouble in concentration because the activities which we are doing are not done out of joy or love , they are done because we crave certain by product or results from there , if that's the case you are bound to distracted, Acharya ji wants us to choose things which we love then distractions won't lure us.
