Thanks for bringing this back, and so recently! I remember watching this as a small child religiously, loved the bonus round. Fort Devens no longer exists, it's simply "Devens", and is mostly a commercial and industrial mecca, with a recent addition of several movie studios (Hollywood caliber). In the commercial district, there's a few shops, and 2 small hotels. There's still an Army base here, as well as a National Guard base. At one time, there used to be barracks dotting the area, some were built by Ed McMahon.
IMO: lavender, as a color, is very beautiful; &, as an herb or essential oil, is very calming & relaxing. So you'd be very beautiful (handsome if you're a man), calm & relaxed

My hat’s off to you,Wink not just that you’re from Jackson,the heart of West TN I remember Channel 2 in SE Nashville aired Concentration around 6PM every night many years ago.
Love the 70's mod graphics/colors set design (horrible lighting, BTW)...And the guy behind the set sliding the doors to reveal...making it seem like a machine with the 'bell'... Love it.
@9:22, you can picture one of Barker's Beauties (at that time) modeling the car or the showcase since this TPIR showcase cue was also featured on Bob Eubanks' and Bill Rafferty's versions of Card Sharks for the car game.
Buzzr is getting close to airing this episode of Concentration!!!! They already upgraded on Friday where the contestants play for 3 other prizes besides the car and $100 in the Double Play area.
Quick question, Wink... What was that song playing just before the clapper went away and the show proper started? I could swear I've heard that song before on some other clapper parts before Goodson/Todman shows. Was it some kind of in-joke?
While I was not born yet when the original version was on (or this version either), I would venture to guess that it ended before this version (it may have ended in 73) started airing or, since this version was syndicated, maybe the original was still airing in primetime. I could be wrong though, both were before my time
Sadly, NBC wiped most of the tapes from their original run of Concentration to save money. Only a handful of kinescopes from the original series survive.
Boy, Jack's long, gray hair makes him seem 10 years older rather than the actual 3 years older than he was in the earliest Concentration episode posted by Wink (number 344 from 1974).
The Tone Poets Jack is more interested in hearing his baritone "radio voice" modulation and elocution than being a showman on a stage. Yawn. Sleepy time yet professional. Total Gary Owens School.
