This concentrating drywasher classifies the material automatically down to 3/16 of an inch before it reaches the riffle tray. Over 90% gold found in the desert is smaller than this size. However, it would be a good idea to run your metal detector over the tailing pile before leaving the area - just to be safe. We wanted a drywasher which performed most of the work for us: just shovel the material in at a reasonable rate and let the machine do the rest. The design is wider and longer than most drywashers on the market today. It is much better to give the material more time to run through the machine without slowing down overall throughput. This helps you to capture the fine gold which is most prevalent in the desert.
This machine works very well with damp (not wet) material you find after it has rained 3 days earlier. You won't need to cancel trips out to the desert just because it rained a few days before the trip. The action breaks up dirt clots by using more intense vibration than most other machines have. This vibration is also transferred to the riffle tray helping to dry out the fine particles before they leave the tray.
