Have you ever wondered why we climb mountains, or more importantly, why we should? I'd like to introduce you to a concept I've developed through years of self examination, relating to three prominent influences on identity, and how this relates to outdoor adventure being a means to create resilience, build self belief, access healing and achieve our dreams.

Wow! As a fellow New England adventurer, thank you for sharing this! This type of discussion is way overdue in the outdoor adventure space. I wish I had a grasp of this when I was your age. Good work and I look forward checking out more of your channel!❤

I'm neither a climber nor a skier, but I do bicycle tours when the weather allows it. I'm an anxious, shut-in person that works from home in front of a computer five days a week. And getting outside of my comfort zone is one of my biggest issues. That's why I started doing bicycle tours, to leave my self-imposed prison once in a while. When I do my tours, I just pick a rough direction that features a lot of nature and start riding. Not having a destination and not knowing what to expect is an adventure itself every time, I never know where I will end up. And the things I see along the way are just so beautiful every single time. Doing these little adventures definitely makes me stronger and helps me grow as a person. Cool video, I liked the concept and would like to see/hear more like it!

Thank you so much for sharing. Desk life is hard, being back at school is reminding me. I’m glad you find adventure in your bike tours, and can stretch you comfort zone in that way! They sound super cool! Wishing you some epic rides in the future.

This is impressive, especially when considering your age. Most guys your age aren't even at a place to discuss these concepts or dissect them in a meaningful way. You should have more videos like this on your channel! For the record I'm 35. I was a downhill mtn biker for many years, some hybrid bodybuilding/running/road biking, wakeboarder, sl/gs ski racer. I've done some cool things but I've also pushed too far. It's good to understand why you might fail and if you keep making the same mistakes.
