Imagine doing all this hard work only for it to be undone 20 years later by management putting just one animatronic on a stage next to a bunch of TV monitors
The part from 1:37 about removing Rolfe really disturbed me for some reason. Just for the fact that it says to "prepare for the night" and that it'll be a long night. Just imagine being one of the technicians that had to stay up an entire night in 1992 to uninstall an animatronic. It sounds kinda scary.
***** I found it sad because the show that was so popular was ending, well changing at least, knowing Chuck E Cheese is now the new show, and the Rocka Fire explosion would just be a past show forgotten, Kinda wish they'd kept the Rocka fire set :/
Oh man, this really kicks me to the heart: these "new" characters were the reason why I fell in love with animatronics and robotics! But to see the conversion and loss of Rock-Afire Explosion makes me kind of sad... but wouldn't have lead me to where I am today without the curiosity of what made Chuck E. moved.
Employees After "Concept Unification": Employee 1: ~Looks at the frames in the video, then looks at how crooked, jacked-up, and sloppy their results are~ Dude, I don't think we did it right... Employee 2: It's good enough. Besides, the kids won't know the difference. Employee 3: The chef's head is sliding off the mech, man. I think they'll notice.
@@marlenejojo1 calling them cheap when they might not have enough money to cover it all especially this is at ALL SHOWBIZ pizza locations. So every store got this
@@chuck.echeeseconnecticuit7916 They had the money at the time but not the know how, and if they were hard up financially they wouldn't have thrown away so many animatronics. They were in a rush to recycle them to rake in even more cash with no care or creativity for that matter of their own.
Yeah, but it was the old man sounding showbiz pizza time Rolfe at the end, he probably enjoyed watching them all suffer, just listen to the last Rolfe and Earle showtape
I couldn’t watch this… I cried so hard over that…my parents had to be like, “Peanut, they’re old animatronics..” and Rolfe was my favorite, too…I always wanted to go and see these guys just to see Rolfe…I always thought he had a bigger heart than he was letting on too in terms of his character. I hope they find a way to keep ‘em around.
@peanutgolds4058 Rolfe DeWolfe: *Looks inside himself* I didn't want my friends to be replaced. Even though Earl and I were like; 1:44 Why is this happening?
I remember going to CEC once when I was younger, and I was freaked out by the guy walking around, NOT the robots. I told my sister this, and she told me that they were robots. She thought I was talking about the animatronics, but I was talking about the costumed guy. That did help me get less scared, but apparently a fully walking robot with movement in all areas that could kill you was less scary to me as a kid than a guy in a suit.
This is so weird and creepy. I think part of it is because that whenever you have something animated and humanoid and you destroy it or convert it to something else, there's an unsettling feeling even if deep down you know that they are just animatronics and not living beings. It just seems so sad, even if I'm not really familiar with the Showbiz characters.
I don't get why they're saying "making sure to DESTROY the old organ front" why not "put up the old organ front for tickets with an appropriate story for why Rockafire Explosion no longer performs"
The workers aren't expected to come up with a story. They only are expected to successfully convert the old band to the new models. But yeah, it makes me sad to see them destroy all props instead of them returning it to creative engineering.
Showbiz was instructed to destroy all signs of the RAE due to copyright. If they didn't, CEI would be able to sue, considering they own all rights and trademarks of the Rock-afire Explosion stage.
CEC was demanded by Creative Engineering to destroy all signs of the RAE to avoid copyright infringement, which would end in CEC getting sued. But, most 3-stages still have Mr.Moon, so Aaron most likely has the ability to sue the company since they are using a RAE character.
Nah he couldn't have asked them to be shipped back because the head honchos at CEC were pissed they couldn't get full rights to the animatronics off of him and they would have charged him a pretty penny to get anything back. I suspect this is also yet another reason they are choosing to get rid of animatronics altogether at this point. CEO's suck and don't care what the people want, anything they can do to put a little extra coin in their pockets is what they are after. Why do people even still bring their kids to this horrible place?
@@marlenejojo1 Yeah, it's said that the animatronics are getting more expensive to maintain, kids are losing interest in them, and that "Five Nights at Freddy's" has been giving them a bad image. (Ironically, from what I've seen, "Five Nights at Freddy's" seems to actually get the kids interested in the Chuck E. Cheese's animatronics in some cases!)
5:58 Even though im a HUUUUGE fan of Animatronics, showbiz, CEC this part makes me feel uncomfortable. How they just stare at the screen with dead silence (I AM NOT REFERENCING FNaF)
@@veritateseducational217 Because it's hard to have a proper conversation about animatronics without one kid starting to boast about FNAF when people don't want to hear that shit. Although I like FNAF, sometimes hearing the same references over and over while talking about REAL LIFE animatronics gets pretty annoying.
yeah but now they’re being thown into the garbage where they will rot, and stand lifeless and motionless until someone might be luck enough to find them
The Chuck E. Cheese animontronics were used from the Rock Afire Explosion. Which are: Chuck E. Cheese= Rolfe Helen Henry= Mitzi Mozzarella Jasper= Beach Bear Pasqually= Dook Larue Mr. Munch= Fatz Geronimo Pizzacam= Loony Bird Munch Jr.= Choo Choo
Cool instinctual reaction, bro. When you get to high school, be sure to ask your teachers about a small concept called "copyright law". Actually, no: first, start with "When somebody gets sued and a judge issues an order that says "return or destroy all ShowTime branded merchandise", does that mean they still have to obey the order, even if I personally think the judge is a soulless animal?" PROTIP: The answer will be "Yes, because that's called being a grownup." See you then.
I just had a thought. What if all those character bots were sentient and went into "And I Must Scream" mode when turned off? If Rolfe and Earl were disassembled last, think of what they would have experienced as they saw their best friends get essentially killed and replaced with these new people, knowing that soon this would be their fate...
@@crimsondynamo615 Heh, if I had to be part of a Showbiz Pizza crew in 1991 performing the Concept Unification job, I would've joked around with the other crew members by puppeting Earl and doing his voice saying "You're a geek, you're a geek, you're a GEEEEEEEEEK!" Then I'd salvage the Earl animatronic and Rolfe's cosmetics for myself during the conversion (remember, this was before eBay, and Rolfe is also my favorite RAE character.)
@Champsy 2004 Aaron did it for a reason tho. If he gave up the rights show biz would program and voice all of the shows and have total control over the characters. The show would have Been bad. Showbiz didn’t want Aaron to have any say in what happens with the show.
I like this for some reason I’ve always had this thing for Chuck E. Cheese and this video just makes me feel happy I’m not sure I know I will get hate but it brings me some joy
hippiechik95 Yeah, I agree. I was thinking about that throughout the entire video. But the only thing they didn't change was Moon. I bet he's all like " OH THANK GOD". xD
Aaron had a falling out with Corporate. They owned the "bots"... not the characters. So choice A is to re-use the bots and convert them... or B. Throw out all the good working bots and get new ones.... If Creative Engineering and Showbiz could have made a compromise or a truce, it wouldn't have happened. I've watched lots of videos of interviews with Aaron... Rockafire is like his family... he didn't want to have anything to do with the CEC characters. He didn't want anyone other than his company to script or record for Rockafire.... Nobody won....... Corporate made the choice to use the characters they had rights to, and didn't have to pay extra royalties for.
god just watching ths made me cry ;( these were my childhood and just think they didnt even get new animatronics for the new pizzaria but they just kept the old ones that they barely maintain i mean those animatronics are probably having an existantial crisis right now they dont know who they are anymore also how many people are actually attatched to these "new" animatronics they just ripped away peoples hopes of working at showbiz pizza and being able to see those RAF animatronics its just sad
Rolfe - Chuck E. Mitzi - Helen Dook - Pasqually Choo-choo - Munch Jr. Fatz - Munch Loony Bird - Camera Sun - Building Spider - Wink Beach Bear - Jasper Hmm...they didn't do anything with Billy Bob's body.
The Rock-Afire Explosion animatronics were in Ebay. They were removed in ShowBiz Pizza Place, they went to Ebay and the materials in the animatronic’s stage was selled in different stores.
I wish they wouldn't have changed ALL of the Showbiz Pizza Places into Chuck E. Cheese's. That way there would still be some Rock-Afire Explosions that are in good condition.
I find the rock a fire explosion is the best thing that could ever happen and as I was watching this video and it’s weird seeing them being taken off their stages and stuff like that so that was a long time ago to 1998 so it’s sad to see them go and something that no one will ever see barely ever again
Those bastards who made chuck e cheese I mean I still can't believe they r switching them out with the same animatronics for chucky I thought they were going to switch the animatronics
+Ruby pizza time theatre was losing money! By 84 they had gone bankrupt so showbiz pizza bought the rights the didn't wAnna pay for the rights to the Rae so the just used cec because they had the rights to that
I was a cec fan until I realized they were just a knock off of the rockafire explosion. Esp seeing this video and how they pretty much just reskinned the original band to become chuck e cheese characters is quite upsetting. In essence chuck e cheese doesn't exist, hes a scam artist born from this whack conecpt video of a greedy ceo.
@PartySlime76 They may have existed first but they totally did rip off the full body animatronics from the rockafire explosion. As to why they did that I am not 100% clear but the assumption is because they were more advanced. I grew up with CEC, that is where my memories are but I am disturbed about how they refaced all the animatronics because the greedy ceo couldn't get full ownership of RAE. I know it's all business in the end, but they f-ed that guy over, and I hate anytime big ceo pulls that crap.
You should be saying Poor Rock Afire Explosion, I mean Rolfe has the sort of selfish money greedy attitude, but I still like The Rock Afire Explosions and its many well developed characters.
If CEC didn’t go out of business (because of the video game crash of 1984)There could of been a possibility that the rockafire explosion would still be in showbiz restaurants so its not CEC’s fault that the video game crash of 1984 happened so don’t go hating on something that wasn’t cec or showbiz’s fault.and also because Aron owns The Rockafire explosion.
Not Rolfe DeWolfe! I mean, I think Chuck E. Cheese is a pretty cool character, but that was messed up. At least there are still some surviving Rolfe DeWolfes out there, including right at Creative Engineering. (So in a way, I am glad Aaron Fletcher still owns the rights to the Rockafire Explosion, as he can keep them alive in some way!)
I've never heard of Showbiz Pizza. I do remember a place called Pistol Pete's Pizza. They had what looked like the same characters from the Rockafire show. I can't remember if it was called rockafire though.. But the show had the exact same puppets for sure now that I think of it. That all went away when Peter Piper Pizza took over the place. They put bumper cars in it's place.
amen. 4-12 me: Chuckie is the best! theres no better animatronic! 13 *aka me now after discovering the story, origin and the animatronics THAT USED TO BE the true ones.* dang. I hate chuckie now. im never looking at a sky tube again.
@@pandog76 Most likely, I also think they tested the other characters as well since the Rolfe & Earl segments also replays some already made showtapes, and they played them before starting the retrofitting procedures.
