First time I heard Venetianisches Gondellied op. 30 played by anything other than piano. The contra bass clarinet ( ??? I missed the name ! ) plays piano's left hand, which portraits ebbs and flows of the water. So beautiful that I cannot get enough of the sound.

What you need Nicolas is my Buffet bass clarinet instead of the modern bass. It is a simple system bass (Albert system) with no serial number no cracks. My teacher used to call it "Boris". It goes only to low E.

Your technique...and the instrument itself may be out of my reach....but mouthpiece and reed are a major part of that magic sound that I might be able to obtain. So...what was the reed mouthpiece choice for the duet?

...again (on the sextet) an alto clarinet or basset would have nice. I'm a big alto clarinet fan as you can tell. I have one but don't play it too much (I also play saxophones and flute as well)
