The so-called "Galant Style" for a time was seen as a mere transitory period. Interesting upload from Brilliant Classics, by showing us more than an interlude between two great eras, but a time of composers, aesthetics and creativity of their own.

@@Kousmichoff729 I suppose not everyone realizes how international the old Euroclassics have become, even as they have lost market share and some of their former cultural standing in North America. The top level practitioners of major orchestral instruments now tend to be East Asian. Disproportionately, at least. That's some impressive cultural uptake.

Maravilha "galant", onde predomina a textura homofônica , o baixo de Alberti, os rasgos ligeiros das cordas e o colorido das palhetas além das trompas. Leveza, alegria, elegância sonora estão presentes.
Pantheism or naturalistic pantheism identifies God with the world. There is God, there is the world, but God merges into the world. The world is the only reality, God is only the abstract sum of all that exists. This is what these sonorities inspire me :)
Musica brillante e armoniosa produce la distensione dell'animo e della mente, ma non per questo musica superficiale, come del resto si vede dal nome degli autori , fra i più grandi musicisti del Settecento e, potremmo dire, di tutti i tempi. Lo " Stile Galante " ( che già nel nome contiene una connotazione se non negativa, certo inferiore ai cosiddetti barocco e classicismo) è , al contrario, una musica che risponde , per bellezza e sonorità, agli ideali di quasi tutto il Settecento.Nella storiografia ufficiale lo "Stile Galante " è schiacciato tra il Barocco ( che di solito si fa terminare nel 1750 con la morte del Kantor " ) e l'inizio del cosiddetto "Stile Classico ( che Charles Rosen fa iniziare con Haydn, Mozart e Beethoven) Su Beethoven avrei qualche cosa da ridire..Rispetto allo stile "alto" ( il contrappunto severo di Bach e le grandi Sonate di Beethoven) lo "Stile Galante " viene definito come " elegante, scherzoso,,naturale,brillante,raffinato e ornato". In effetti Robert O. Gjerdingen non solo ne riconosce la grandezza, ma lo colloca tra il 1720 e il 1780, quindi non più solo 30 anni ma ben 60, nei quali rientrano anche Bach ,Haydn e Mozart. Si tenga presente il contesto: nasce con la Commedia dell'arte , con comportamenti galanti di corte ( ben descritti ne "Il Cortegiano" di Baldassar Castiglione ) e , come il comportamento a corte era costituito da uno stile "peculiare", così lo "Stile Galante" risponde alle regole di etichetta di corte, senza perdere la sua grandezza, ma , al pari della commedia, utilizza una serie di "schemi " ( si pensi allo schematismo di Kant) per permettevano agli attori e ai musicisti di "improvvisare" sugli schemi e se la commedia è in più atti , anche la sonata deve esserlo . Grazie per aver presentato musicisti di così alto livello , fra i quali amo ricordare Pergoesi, Stamitz e Jommelli. Di nuovo grazie!
