Everyone should hear this unique, very powerful performance. To be appreciated but not necessarily aspired to.

On the whole brisk, I'm glad I've heard the Concertino like this, though I don't want to hear it this way always. The main thing I liked about this tempo was that it was easier to entertain the phrase structures as a whole. Negatively, I think the 'lots of black, play faster' tactic didn't really pay dividends. The tempi are already brisk, playing clean, in control and in relation to the prevailing tempo would have rung the bell clearer than tounging sprints. IMO. But largely commendable playing.

The person who posted it posted it at the incorrect speed. As you view on RU-vid slow it to .75 and it’s the correct pitch and tempo. (Sigh)

I tried that. It’s still pretty fast at the parts like the poco piu vivo and the end.

Wow, just WOW, Steve!!! Great clarinet playing -- BRAVO! Did you compose that cadenza? Also, a great job by the clarinet choir & conductor, John Yeh!

Esageratamente veloce in vari passaggi... ascoltare questo pezzo mi fa venire (quasi) il mal di testa... Mi dispiace per Weber. Non viene affatto voglia di riascoltarlo una seconda volta.

Pretty sloppy for a big name player..... maybe if he wasn't in such a hurry it might have gone better.

Was Mr. Williamson trying to see just how fast he could rush through this? Probably the worst excuse for an unmusical mess that I've ever heard from a professional principal clarinetist.

This video/audio is so bad I can't believe someone would post it. It make a fine player sound like a 10th grader! Maybe Mr. Witworth hates the clarinet.
