I enjoyed your comment about playing with tortilla dough until it became black and dirty! That made me remember when we were young, and my mom would give us expired yeast packets. We would mix the yeast with dirt and water and leave the mixture in old pot pie tins and place them in the sun. Gosh those things would get fluffy and looked liked spongy chocolate pudding!!! Your memory triggered mine and I appreciate the laughs…yours and mine!

Okie dokie Senora Rachel…I’m going to try making conchas. I know it’s important to knead the dough 20 minutes, pero I’m not sure I’ll last that long.😬 ok I had to come back and add that as you were taking a bite, so was I! Hi Rachel. I’m so glad to have found you on u-tube. You are an excellent cook and very helpful to all of us that could use some cooking instructions. I have always wanted to learn Hispanic cooking - it is my favorite food! The care of knives are an important skill that I know little about. Could you please give some instruction about which knives to use for what, the necessary sizes or types needed in the kitchen, the care of them, and also how and what to sharpen them with? I remember when i was a little girl my dad would take me to the mexican store and i always got the mexican bread shaped like a pig 😁 it was pink and everything and so good! Goodness i hadn't thought about that in years! I am almost 40 now and it's such a good memory 😊 Thank you Rachel!

Rachel, you are the epitome of patience! I love to watch you prepare the food, just to marvel at your patience. There is no way I would ever take the time to create such pretty bread, when I can drive to the donut shop and buy a dozen donuts!
