Class 807 on Test &
Lady Di Smokin!
19 20 January 24
A View of Kingmoor depot.
Passing Pendos at Etterby
At Carlisle Citadel station
Class 807 on test.
Single Class 56 on the logs - 17 wagons!
Statesman Rail's Settle & Carlisle Circular - 47712 Lady Diana Spencer at the head and really smoking.
Class 37425 Concrete Bob / Sir Robert McAlpine possibly on its last revenue run before being sold by DRS.
Class 37s returning to Kingmoor with a pair of independent snow ploughs, despite being up for sale.
Class 66 on an intermodal.

A great mix of trains and locales today, Leslie. I liked the 37 Citadel Station, but the 47s are cool, too. Of course, the 800 variations will be my faves! Cheers!

Lady Di did look to be burning a bit of oil there, not too serious though she sounded healthy enough. Nice blast from the 37's without them to inspect the line and clear the snow in future another thing we will miss in future. I wonder if the 66 will be as trustworthy for this kind of work as they almost always choose a 37 when the going is tough

DRS had a pair of 66s with ploughs at Kingmoor. I suppose the 37s took ploughs to do the Aberystwyth line where 37s seem to be the biggest locos.

Nice to see the snow ploughs, hope concrete bob is going to a good home, nice to see the Statesman on the north tyne line, a line i very been to, also the 807002 on test i saw this and thought it was a pendo and didnt film it . 🤔 cheers Steve .

Nice video Les some awesome zooming @ the D R S depot great footage from the bridge there and the 807s on test , im thinking in 5/6 yrs time all our passenger trains will be 8?? xxx down here at E M R we have 33 - 810 xxx on order for this year electric/ diesel mode , i cant see nottm being electrfied this side 2030 so if you dont like 800s there will only be freight worth looking at . Shame about concrete bob i bet someone will snap it up for this autumn RHTT .once again a superb video many thanks for sharing Les do take care stay safe a t b syd👌

Hi Les. Nice to see a 56 on the logs. Who's buying Concrete Bob? I remember those 158s being introduced. They were known as Turbostars, I think? Built at Derby, where I was living at the time. They were seen as the "Saviours of Litchurch Lane." It seems the works again needs a Messiah.

No idea re Concrete Bob. The 158s were Ex]ress Sprinters. Turbostars, built at Derby, are Class 170s.

There's a good chance it will be a 37 that will hold the honour of being the last diesel certified for mainline running that was built whilst steam engines were still in service.

@LeslieGilpinRailways True, but right now I think there are more mainline certified 37s than 47s, even though there were far more 47s built.
