Yes and no, you have to be very careful with it. If you vibrate it too much the course & fine agrigate ie gravel & sand will sink to the bottom leaving you with a very watery and weak bottom even after it dries.
@@polycrystallinecandy yes. I have one too, and sometimes when I'm not pouring a lot I find myself still tapping it by hand. Just add a bit less water in, and it should be fine. There's a reason so many people use them. Just don't do it tooo long is all I'm saying
First fill your mold with rice or something similiar to gauge the volume. That way you won't mix up 3 times as much silicone as you need. That stuff is expensive...
But be very careful with how much rice you're using for how long because it will attract Asians once they see the silicone they will immediately go into motherboard building phase
You can create this type of "perpendicular chicken-wire" tiling pattern using just a *single* pentagonal shape; however, using 2 complementary shapes, like Ben did here, allows you to create the tiles 2x as fast. But for those who can only afford the silicone for a single mold, then I give some geometry info here. First, let me say that there isn't a *unique* pentagon that does this, but there *is* a relationship between side lengths and angles which must be satisfied. Suppose you want your single tesselating pentagonal tile to have all 5 sides of the same length. In this case, your interior angles (in degrees) *must* be: (114.3, 90, 131.4, 90, and 114.3). If instead you want to let the interior angles determine the side lengths, and you choose "easy" angles such as (120, 90, 120, 90, 120), then you will have 4 sides of equal length and one shorter side whose length is only 73.2 percent of the longer length.
Palm sander, multi tool, etc. Any of those tools that give off a vibration would work. Or the old fashioned, tried and true method of simply tapping with a hammer.
The after shot really made me think of Goyte’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” video! This came out so cool looking and probably wayyyyy cheaper than buying pavers. Extra cool that you can make them in custom colors. I’m assuming that would cost a whole lot…if you could even find them in some colors.
Cool- now add say a cup of Portland cement (for each ) to the bag concrete for a smoother mix....stores Always have damaged bags you can get on the cheap, too
They are just so amazing & beautiful, I actually appreciate you making videos such as these cause I really want to build some of the things you showed us how to design & construct 😊. Thank you bud, You are so talented & just such an inspiration to me & I’m pretty sure to many other people too.
Could use some anti slip penetrating sealant and take care of that issue with little fuss. Probably run about $20.00 /1000 sq feet. Just off the top of my head. Had to do this to some ceramic tiles in my moms house because it was a fall hazard!
