The biological filtration is located within the waterfall. With the application of water treatments on a routine basis the seasonal algae blooms are usually minimal. Thanks for watching!

Made that dry desert suddenly look like paradise. The concrete reminded me of a question I had. Have you ever had a problem with weeds growing and puncturing through the liner? My first water feature I made in the backyard had a ton of weeds grow through the liner, specifically nut grass I believe, and I had to redo the whole thing, but I also wasn't satisfied with the result anyway. But I was using less durable pond liner that wasn't a EPDM rubber liner, and the soil underneath was full of nut grass seeds which I didn't think would possibly go through both the underlayment and liner. To be safe I did a layer of concrete under the liner next time to ensure nothing grew through it. Would EPDM rubber be punctured by weeds or even grass like bermuda grass?

I have never had an issue with weeds puncturing the liner. Weed Spores will definitely blow in and grow between the rocks and soil at Pond’s edges. If there are small holes in the liner then roots will definitely find them and grow through to create larger holes. It is very important to be overly cautious when laying out the liner and setting rocks on it as to insure the liner is not scuffed. This is why I put fabric on top of the liner in many occasions to ensure no damage to the liner during installation. Hope this helps

Awesome! There was approx 25tons of Boulers in on this pond build with about 1/3 coming out of the ground from the excavation.

A starting point would be 50k. Access, digging conditions and options will also affect the project cost.

Loved watching this come together. Beautiful pond. Can I ask what goes into your decision on an intake bay vs a skimmer? Also, do you mind me asking what pump you used?

I suggested the intake bay on this project due to the layout of the patio space along with the way the end of the pond Intergrated into pavers. Doing this just provides an opportunity for the fish to be even closer to the sitting area. The waterfall pump is a 5PL (5,000gph) and the circulation pump is a 3PL

@@cbwaterfeatures when we do multiple pumps I also prefer to go the route of the intake bay when pushing bigger waterfalls/circulation jets. I really don’t want to pull more than 8,000gph through a skimmer. Feel free to ask questions. We are here to help 👍

@@pondscapesaz ok, well now you're making me ask another question. Lol. If a 1000 skimmer is rated to handle 10,000 gph,. Why don't you want to go past 8,000gph? Would it be a safety decision in case the basket isn't emptied often enough and could restrict water flow?

@@cbwaterfeatures exactly correct. Also we install auto fill valves in the skimmer and if it is maxed out in performance AND has a heavy debris load in the basket it could alter the water level outside of the basket within the skimmer which causes the fill valve to add water when not needed. 👍
