Mr. Garcia i have a question about feeding. Readings up on nutrition for working dog and the author recommended 40-50% of calories should come from fat due to the work. Do you agree?
That might be true for an Iditarod dog but it's too much for most working and sporting dogs. 20-25% or less is better. Cook a hamburger of 80/20 and see how much fat there is...
@Jeremy Shea There's so many types of feed to use in a diet that you can practice feeding what you like and what's available as long as it's balanced. High protein and fat. Vitamins,minerals and trace elements and even probiotics.
@Jeremy Shea Balanced is protein,fat,vitamins and minerals and carbs if you like them. Put your dog on what you consider a good diet. Work The dog for a month and see how it responds to the diet. Monitor his weight and have fresh water available at all times except for immediately after a workout. If he's good after that,you're good.
