We are traveling around the world looking for the best place to live. Playa del Carmen Mexico ticked a lot of our boxes, with its delicious food, walkability, and its gorgeous tree-lined streets. We decided to take a look at three places for sale.
I checked out three condos in three separate buildings. The first one is a one-bedroom condo in an up-and-coming area. The next two condos are located near the beach on the prettiest street in Playa Del Carmen. One is a newer one-bedroom condo, and the other is a two-bedroom condo. If you're curious about what you can get in a beachfront city, a short flight from many places in the US or Canada, this is the video for you.

I like Playa, all 3 properties look nice, however got to wait until the Canadian dollar gets better, my husband and I call it the Canadian peso these days.

How true! I was just calculating how much more expensive it would be to shop in the US right now - with the Canadian dollar down and prices up!

Be very very very careful when buying a Pre Sale. You are promised a beautiful distant view of the water across the city trajectory. You end up like myself spending over $80,000 and now finding out the same company is building another hugh condo right across the street which will block your view. I don’t care what the realtor verbally promises don’t bank on an ocean view unless it is written in the contract.

Oh yeah…..and I’ve only just paid for half as my condo isn’t due to be completed until end of September. They are trying to get me to buy pre sale on their next condo across the street that they promise will have a distant ocean. View.

More infos are needed to make a choice especially the condo fees. The farer you are from la Quinta the better it is.

I am having the same problem. All realtors only send me listings of pre-construction projects when I keep on asking for recently built but finished buildings. I don't understand why? Is that because older condo buildings are not maintained properly?

You could easily find an older resale place in a nice neighbourhood in Playa for around usd$200K. Get a proper realtor (licensed broker) to show you options.

The 75 K one is too far away. You'd have no quality of life out there. It's on avenida 115, quite far from Parque La Ceiba, and everything else. You'd need a car, but even so, not a very good quality of life.
