This cone 5 kiln opening features Amaco, Mayco, Spectrum and Laguna glaze combinations. My favourite is the large ancient Jasper and multicoloured bowl and of course my halibut plates.

I love this kiln opening - such wonderful glaze combos on lovely hand built work. I love wasabi and sky mixed. I just did a 50/50 mix and fell in love. will try your ratio next time. Thank you Joanne

Hello fellow Atlantic Canadian potter. (I’m near Moncton, NB). I really like your RU-vid demos and love, love your beautiful large bowl and halibut plates. Your glazes: cone 5 outside is Amaco ancient jasper on texture. Inside Amaco sky celadon on spiral, band of Laguna Blue Snow Flakes, then Amaco Blue Midnight and Amaco Toasted Sage. With lots of light flux.

How odd that the glaze pulled away on the whale but I have to say it looks very intentional especially where it did it at. Very cool. I absolutely LOVE the bowl with all the glazes. The glaze combo was ancient jasper on the back x2, sky, Laguna blue snowflakes, blue midnight, toasted sage and lots of light flux! Thanks for the chance to win!!

What a stunning bowl! Ancient Jasper 2 coats outside, then inside from center to rim- sky celadon, blue snow flakes, blue midnight, toasted sage and light flux.

Hi! Love your style. One question, how many layers of celadon do you apply over the underglaze transfers? Been wanting to try it, but didn’t want to overdo it. Thanks so much! I’ll keep watching!

Always 2 coats over transfers and I cross hatch when I brush

That bowl is stunning! Ancient Jasper, sky celedon, Laguna blue snowflake, blue midnight, toasted sage and light flux! Question for you.....was the blue midnight also under the toasted sage which was around the rim? Love your use of flux on your halibut plates also. 👍

Thank you! The dark blue that you see peeking out about 2 inches below the rim does not have toasted sage over it but the Toasted sage is over the Blue midnight. Next bowl like this I may try it in the opposite way, Blue midnight OVER the toasted sage. Glad you like it. Hello Northern friend. I prefer thicker glaze, have you ever tried Standard Ceramic glazes? Well being thankful is universal so have a wonderful Thanksgiving whether you are eating turkey or not.

I drew a halibut on some Bristol board, Cut it out and then use that for the Shape. It is not my idea, you can look up pebble Creek pottery for the actual lesson..
