what are you talking about, the music is just perfect with the video.

Music has to be extremely well chosen and very carefully used if it is to add any value to a documentary. Just pulling one's favorite song off the iPod and plugging it into the sound track to replace ambient noise doesn't cut it. It's a common mistake of many video creators, who seem to feel that the actual source sound needs to be removed for some reason. In this case, the style of the music evokes the 1940s (even if the song is more recent); this conflicts dramatically with the modern visuals.

Either way, although it might just be a personal aversion on my part to anything that has a retro atmosphere about it.

Good visuals. Best with the sound turned off as the music is an unwelcome distraction.
