An idea for UEBS, the battle of Hope from World War Z (fantastic book). About 400 US army men, in a 2 row thick square formation (colonial style), with very high damage and accuracy but limited range (enough to kill each zombie in 1 shot) and a fire rate of about 1 shot per second (like a really efficient semi-automatic rifle), with 10,000's of zombies coming in from every direction (100,000 should be manageable). This would be particularly interesting to see due to the fact that in the book, the zombies actually did start piling up forming (as the book says) and undead fortification. I've always wanted to see this battle come to life as well as the book did and I hope you look into the WWZ universe more for other interesting ideas (the second book, the zombie survival guide, even has some accounts of romans vs zombies, which would be epic to see).
I love this channel, very impressed with the periodic lesson and spot on knowledge of history! never once subscribed to a channel because I was too lazy to fill out the account registration but I gotta say man, worth it lol. keep up the kick-ass videos!
The Saguaro Cactus would make this Arizona, The only battle in Arizona was at Picacho Peak, Which is about 50 miles from Tucson Arizona. It makes sense because it's at a mountain, but it could not be Texas.
diplex you know the german superfortress. you should do the americans defending against a german counter attack to take the fortress back. like if you agree
How about this one from Guy Sajer's /memoir/novel(?) 'The Forgetten Soldier, about his time in the Grossdeutschland Division in Russia. At one point in the book his machinegun platoon was dug in on the Ukrainian steppes when the Soviets hurl several hundred thousand Siberian reinforcements at the Germans. As Sajer described it, it was a line of Russians from one horizon to the next, chanting & cheering 'Hurrah!' and charging at them with Nagants with fixed bayonets and PPSH submachineguns;
I understand that you aren't American, and I don't at all expect you to know our history, so I want to stress that i am not criticizing, merely sharing information that many people may not know. Arizona did not become a state until 1912, long after the Civil War had ended. And while Texas had sided with the Confederacy, it was more of a lesser of two evils for them. They very much wanted to be the independent Republic of Texas once again, and knew they could not leave the Union on their own. They joined the Confederacy on the hopes that should the Confederacy win, Texas would then be able to split off and hold their own against the battleworn CSA.
does MoW give u the ability to have African American troops because it's be dope if u could do the battle of James Island and the battle where i think Robert lead a regiment of them into a conf. fortress and yet they lost but did a good damage to the conf. id definitely like to see that if u could do it
Yeah, more Diplex, is great and very epic you know, maybe mission ? So you can control the unit, cause i rather like you control it on mission or campaign some sort
To arms in Dixie! Like my father before me, I will work the land. Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand. He was just eighteen, proud and brave, but a Yankee laid him in his grave.
Hey Diplex, I'm a Filipino fan and I absolutely love your videos. Would you mind doing the most recent siege of Marawi City when the actual operation is done?
I find that the confederates having so much ammo on them unrealistic... one of the major things that the south lacked was manufacturing of ammo and also the ability to send ammunition to the front lines or anywhere else. At the time, the union had successfully disabled their supply lines and previously when the union had control over the south, they had very much prevented the south from growing. Granted some of the officials in the south were guilty of this as well, but the south was dirt poor and i mean dirt poor and the north was just making tons of money off of the south which was one of the reasons for the south leaving the united states. Of course that didn't mean they would have been better off away from the US, actually many of the politicians and public officials of the south thought it would be a bad idea to leave because they needed the north financially in order to survive. However they decided to leave anyway because they were afraid of the civilians boycotting in a very violent way. Anyway... those confederates have way too much ammunition!
You should've put like a civilian Farmer or something with the double barrel shotgun at the ranch. I'm in American who actually knows my history to some extent. And I think it would be very neat to see him join the southern soldiers in fighting off the Yankees
Diplex could you potentially find a plane mod for MaW where you can get a B-17 Flying Fortress for the US and have a battle where you're playing as the US and use the B-17's to bomb the strongest enemy positions?
Imagine if the Civil War had the same type of guns as in World War One. Not like tanks or heavy artillery, but magazine-loaded guns. Maybe Lee Einfields or something like that
I wish they would make official Men of War: era of bayonet game that would have proper line infantry squad controls and bayonet charges, flag bearers, musicians etc.
Diplex you should do some Total War. Maybe some Famous battles or something.oh and if it were to have Romans use the Ancient Empires mod for Attila. Good Mod with a lot of Roman Units.....i mean...a stupid amount
