As long as you use fresh eggs it is not really a problem. Just if you are pregnant or just sensitive on some foods and stuff, you should use a different kind of buttercream.
you can pasteurize the eggs if you have a huge concern, but, I'm sure it should be okay. salmonella in eggs has a very low chance, but, nothing wrong with wanting to be on the safe side :)
