The problem with saying “we didn’t lose because of the bench, we lost because the starters weren’t good enough” is that the reason the starters weren’t good enough is because they played too many minutes, because the bench wasn’t good enough. So yeah, we lost because the bench wasn’t good enough. Best starting 5 in the league, what are we even talking about lol.
Sounds more like a Malone problem. Since he has taken over the bench has been shit so is it a player problem or more a strategy problem caused by Malone's lack of stagger.
Calvin Booth must be a really nice person because all the Nuggets media seem to ignore that he is terrible at his job. Booth is proving to be less like steward and more like a terrible babysitter who invites her boyfriend over.
I thought his 2023 draft was horrific (they should of drafted Trayce Jackson Davis and GG Jackson over Tyson/Pickett and I was saying that before draft), but Braun & Watson were both good picks imo. Bruce brown jr add was great as was KCP. You don’t think he deserves credit for those 4 guys? They don’t win a title without them. What else did you want him to realistically do? Pelinka & Magic before him AWFUL (I’m the rare LeBron and Jokic fan as well as MJ Bird Hakeem Reggie Miller Haliburton to name a few) and Connelly def > Booth, but I think Booth is decent not “terrible at his job”. His Zeke contract was bad too I guess 😅
Hunh? He won a championship in his first year as GM, and largely due to the moves he made, brining in KCP and Bruce Brown. His second season his team had 57 wins, beat the Lakers in the first round then lost in a game 7 in the second round. Is his measuring stick a championship every season? Think it’s way too early to judge him. Let’s see what he does this off season, if it’s underwhelming, then he deserves criticism.
@@DD-sr9xm yes, the measuring stick should be a championship every year. Jokic is a three time mvp. Before the playoffs the conversion was of Jokic was the greatest offensive player ever. The measuring stick should be showtime lakers, Spurs, warriors, Bird’s Celtics, LeBron’s Heat, etc. Additionally, why did this team lose in the second round? They were tired and only had one ball handler. Both of those I believe are Booth’s fault due to his hubris.
In the regular season this year Murray actually did play at an all star level and did have his best year ever. Not sure why ppl aren’t pointing this out. He just had his highest career regular season FG% 3P% Points per 100 (33.3 when his 2nd highest ever was 22-23 when 29.8!) Assists per 100 (10.2 when his 2nd most ever was last 22-23 at 9.2) Rebounds per 100 (6.4 tied for most ever with 2018-19…in 22-23 it was 5.9) Stocks Per 100 (2.5 when his career averages are 2.1 and 2nd most ever in season was 2.3 in 20-21…He averaged 1.5 spg and 1.0 bpg per 100 in 23-24) 23-24 was his highest offensive rating ever too (119 when 2nd highest was 116 in 20-21 and 22-23) Murray Per 100 career stats BEFORE 2023-24 regular season? 27.3, 6.8, 6, 1.5, 0.5 112 ORtg 56 TS% In 2023-24 his Per 100 numbers? 33.3, 10.2, 6.4, 1.5, 1 119 ORtg 59 TS% Nuggets won at 61-62 win pace in 59 games Murray played vs 47-48 win pace without him in 23 games. I get being frustrated with injuries and his very up and down 24 playoffs (after being all time elite guard level 2020/23 WCF & 🏆 when he AVERAGED 26 7 5 1.5 on 49/42/91 including insane 53/51/95 in 4ths!), but try to look at the big picture people! Also try to be realistic who are you trading Murray for that the other team wants to give you back something better for? The only player I’d ever consider who is MAYBE possible (though probably not) is Donovan Mitchell. Don’t give me Trae Young please! Mitchell I get it if you could get him anyone else (who is realistically possible) is not making you as great as when Murray is at his peak. Swipa thinks they’re getting Bogey from ATL (white 2 guard not named Braun?)?If he’s talking about the rumor some Nuggets fans are floating out there of MPJ (bad contract & injury history) Reggie Jackson and 28th pick for Bogey & Hunter (in a horrid draft) would intrigue Hawks even a little bit. I actually still think odds of KCP coming back higher than leaving since Nuggets control that.
@@danesovic7585 all star in the west is not even close to the same as the west and it’s also a popularity contest. Sabonis didn’t make it either. Murray clearly played at all star level when he played
Hey Matt and Swipa. Please let everyone know, as the 3rd option, what MPJ's PER was ranked out of 50 Small Forwards in the entire NBA. Probably dont know. He was 14th
If they lose KCP, they gotta get Bruce back. His exit was a disaster for him and us (in a pure basketball sense, not his bank account). Amazing he's going to be on his third team in a year! Hope it's us!
So sick if we trade MPJ. A guy that some people say didnt score enough to match his contract. Hmm, he knows from Malone that he is 3rd or 4th option no matter what. Most all experts and anyone knows if he was 2nd option he would score 23 points + per game. So if they do trade him its just because they gave him a contract knowing he was going to be 3rd option most games. Not his fault. Sick of people talking Murray struggling with injuries. Yeah ok, several injuries not near bad enough to not play. Hes a slightly above average point guard that is Malone and Jokics pet. Plain and simple.
Moore doesn't know "who these people are" that say Tatum is top 5? Dude, there was a failed push post-Embiid injury by guys like Stephen A. Smith saying he was the MVP! Do you think people are suggesting a guy is MVP but they don't think he's top 5? Come on man.
Jamal cannot cover the other teams back court players and he was getting tired too quickly so Malone put him on the blocks trying to hide him. The well coached Twolves saw this and pounded him down low with Big KAT. Jamal contorts our team in ways we should not need to.
There is really no need for big changes in the current roster. They can win, they could win against TWolves too, but few guys did not show up and they failed. With regards to KCP - I would rather keep KCP and lose MPJ. KCP is more important.
I started being afraid of 20+ point lead after the Spurs game, and when Nuggets were leading by 20 againt TWolves I thought "crap, we may lose this"... and that is exactly what happened...
