On September 12, 2024, Arkansas State Police were involved in a high-speed pursuit on I-49 after a mint green sport bike and a dark green BMW were spotted speeding southbound at the 68-mile marker. As the vehicles accelerated away, the pursuit intensified with both fleeing onto Highway 112.
Troopers quickly lost sight of the BMW, but the sport bike continued to weave dangerously through traffic, even traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Despite efforts to catch the suspect and canvas the area, the sport bike disappeared into heavy traffic near Drake and Garland Avenue, and the pursuit was ultimately terminated.
This video highlights the unpredictable and dangerous nature of high-speed pursuits, where suspects push their vehicles to the limit in their attempts to evade law enforcement.
