Thanks for this clear presentation. I've been a Cirrus pilot for the last couple of decades. Sold the plane recently but want to do some fllying simulation to get a bit of a fix as it were. Being new to all this, setting up the Thrustmaster has been a challenge nearly on par with getting my private:- Your video has made it clearer. Thanks so much......

I was struggling with my Airbus Quadrant when I moved to an A330 the other day and as the airplane was going TOGA every time I put the controller on idle. I will apply this to check if the controller is probably calibrated inside the simulator and create a special profile for that model. Again, thank you sir :).

Just downloaded MSFS to try after flying DCS for quite some time. It’s a bit more clunky, but I’m getting use to it.

I am sure you have helped more want to be aviators then you will every know , perfect presentation.

Jon, thanks for this, it's helped a lot. One question ... in the controller options there are two columns for assigning inputs ... I get what the left column is for but the right is for assigning a second use for a switch? How does that work? For instance if the switch was assigned to retracting the gear but also turning on the landing lights how would the sim know what it was I really wanted?

very well explained and set out, thank you. However I have a problem as I use a logitech G940 system of pedals, throttle and joystick. In this case the calibration system does not seem to work. On the msfs it shows the 3 units but not the buttons on each and does not seem to recognise all the settings, eg I set flaps but they move and then go back without any input. Rudder will not setup. Can a demo of how to set up the G940 not be available.

Thanks for a good video, but I have to say my first impression of MFS is very negative compared to DCS which is much more user friendly.

I have to say that with 9.6k views, 91 likes reflects pretty badly on your viewers. This was an excellent presentation, amongst some really rubbishy ones which I've seen. So, if people don't take the time to click the like button that reflects more on their lack of courtesy than on the quality of the tutorial. You didn't mention modifiers and switches. Are these available in MSFS? I use them a lot in DCS.

It would be good if after all of that programming of various buttons and axis that you could print them out. Also you didn't explain what the second column is for and views but thanks for the info.

I have an issue on steering. Whenever I try to steer the plane to the left, it follows but returns back to the center. I also use the thrustmaster tca i just don't know the proper bindings on the rudder axis and nose wheel axis. Hope you could help me

I'm having problems with the controller set up, I spend a lot of time doing this instead of flying Also make sure any changes are saved, leaving you with grief to do it all again. Is there a way to print a profile or save to a file outside of the sim?

Been trying to configure my thrust master flight stuck for the pull up for elevation and forward to go down. Can you help with this issue? Also my sensitivity is not work as well🤷🏾‍♂️

I just downloaded MSFS in the past 72 hours. and these options simply do not exist. Only 4 out of 6 of my throttle quadrant axes even exist. All controllers are backup powered, drivers installed, fresh software installs (new PC build), etc, etc, etc. everything working flawlessly in Xplane and DCS... can't get a single thing to work in MSFS, except the annoying startup sounds- those work great! I can't get anything else to re-assign. I think my version of MSFS is broken. $120 "paperweight"

the sim pausing lol. this is why we dont need game devs to have fancy animated 3d main menus EVER. i am so tired of AAA game titles whose menus are 99% GPU load and 400 watts. render that in the game, but main menus should be minimal and lightweight on the CPU and GPU that way we can sit in them for long periods of time doing set up and not wasting electricity and generating tons of heat on our rigs to run a simple main menu....
