Great video, thanks for explain as I just move to a apartament and we have this system. Just s quick question, I setup mine for timed 3am to 8am... Does that mean if i do not turn off the timed buttom... After 8 am is not heating more and it will be back to heating at 3am? So we do not get a surprise when bills comes. Thanks!

Thank you and I'm happy that it was helpful . yes we don't need to worry about additional heating once the timer is set at the required timing it will not heat unless the clock sets back at that time. the best notification would be when the boiler is heating water, the light would be ON. Hope that helps. thanks

Thank you for such an informative video! We have just moved into a new apartment and it has this system. Two questions please: 1 Is it possible to heat water for a shorter amount of time than the 3am to 8am? In my last apartment we only heated the water for 45 mins at off peak time and it was enough water for washing up etc. 2 In this apartment we need to use the immersion for showers too. If it is possible to heat the water for a shorter time, how long would you need to have the timer on for each shower?
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 3 месяца назад
Hi Samantha, Glad that the video was helpful to you. To answer your questions 1. There is nooption to heat the water only for shorter period of time automatically on this console. the only way is to use the boost function which I have described in the video. Sorry 2. If you're using for both showers and other washings you might need at least around 1.5 -2 hrs, but it also depends on the weather outside as that would cause the stored heated water in the boiler to cool down faster. hope that helps

Hello Yogen would the water be hot during the time it is heating up? For example if the water is heating between 3am and 8am. Would the water be hot at 6am for a shower!
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 3 месяца назад
Hi Sean, ideally after 3 hours of heating (from 3 am to 6 am), you should have enough hot water for 1 shower (depends on how efficiently ur boiler is and how hot water you prefer for shower), as these are mostly old boilers.

@yogen8300
@yogen8300 9 месяцев назад
If mean the line which says "winter" or summer, we canot change it.. to understand better,this is a clock where the needls are fixed and the dial moves. You will have to change ur current time 2 hours back if u wantt to heat from 5 am (to change from 3 am) (eg if ur current time is 1 pm, make it 11 am) but u cannot change how many hours it will heat,, u will only change from 3-8 to 5-10..(actual times) u can switch off mannualy at 8 in morning.

Hi I have the same heater in my new house and I am super confused. If you can just confirm some questions : Firstly I need to always switch on the white button at night which says water heater on right? Secondly my timer is set up to the exact timing which you have so does this means the whole day the water be heated after 8 am or only during 3am to 8am? Thirdly when I have to shower at night like 9 or 10pm then should I switch on the booster for 2 hrs (just an eg ) and then when booster finishes the round and switches off then should I take shower or when it is on and it is reducing the time subsequently itself? I am happy to connect offline!
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 5 месяцев назад
Hi, To answer your first question. 1. Yes, you have to switch on the white heater switch for auto heating at night. 2. Yes, water will be heated only during 3 AM to 8 AM (u would see the orange light on when it is heating) and the water will remain heated in the boiler storage depending on your use and how the temperature is outside. but if you leave the water in the heater storage whole day without use, it might eventually get cold anyway. 3. to take a shower at 9, yes, you would need to turn on the booster. And it automatically rotates out as a timer switch. but I guess if you just want to take a shower, rotating the switch to 30 or 45 min mark should be fine. Hope that helps.
@aameenkaushal3835
@aameenkaushal3835 5 месяцев назад
So for the first question after 8 am also the water will be hot if I do not use between 3 to 8 am and use it after that as in the storage it is heated and I am the only person in the house . For the third one , I was asking when should I take shower when booster gets closed or during the time it is on ? because when I tried after 20 min ( switched it on for 1 hour) the hot water came for like 5 min and it was cold after that ! Thank you so much for making this video and it answering the question . It has helped me so much
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for clarification.. 1. Yes it will remin hot after 8 am if not used. In My storage, water was luke warm even until 4 pm if not used, so test n try yours... 2. Do allow your booster timer to switch off.. as for me, after 20 mins of booster on, it was enough for a shower and i dont need too hot water.

So Dave, you are trying to take the clock forward by 10 hours that is from morning 3 a.m. (which is the auto start time) to afternoon 1 p.m. that's 10 hours that needs to be move forward. so please make the time 10 hours ahead of the time that you move the dial. So if u do that at 10 pm now, the dial shud be 8 am. (Be mindful of the electricity bills though for day heating), also suggest not to revolving dial too much when the switch is ON as some people have complained of main power tripping off due to sudden n frequent load change)

Hi Thanks for posting this video. Incredible how they can make things so complicated. Saying that I refer this analogue thing than a smart meter anyday lol. Just a couple of observations: if there's going to be no one in the house/apartment for a considerable amount of time ( holidays, vacancies etc) then the water heater should be set to "Water Heater off" correct? On the inner circle ( the one inside the numbers) I see continuous cream colour band and two areas where it seems to be "cut out'. Does this represent the hours when the timer switches on automatically ? Bcos on mine ( it's identical to the one in your video ) those hrs seem to be: 23.30 - 03.30 and 05.00 am - 09.00 am ) Can you explain that?
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 6 месяцев назад
Hi, thank u for the comments and glad it was useful. To answer your questions, Yes, definitely keep the timer switch Off when u are out of home for a duration.. Even i did try to make a sense out of that band but realized it would make understanding this console more complicated.. or if there were some other versions, [and i did not have access to more designs to verify] . It might be so.. would request you to verify if that works in summer time as well in ur machine/console. -would help the viewers.

Thanks. So if I want to have the water heated using the timer for 2 hrs ( not the 5hrs that the Elec. Companies ordained for humanity ...) in the morning ( i.e. there will be hot water ready for 2 people) by say 7 am. Then I need to adjust my clock so that it shows the current time being 2hrs ahead? So instead of the water timer coming on at 3 am it would then be coming on at 5 am ( 5hrs from 5.00 am to 10.00 am ) And you then have to remember to turn off the timer manually when you get up ( i.e at 7 am ) to make the savings on electricity bill. Thanks for your help
@draoicht22
@draoicht22 6 месяцев назад

@yogen8300
@yogen8300 6 месяцев назад
Well you would have to put the clock back 2 hours, (2 hours late than ur current time) so that the 3 am starts 2 hours late at 5 am.. (Sorry for the tripping of the switch, i will add note for future viewers)

Thanks, hope it's not too much to get it repaired 😕 It happened when I was moving the clock dial ( to set the time ) and at the same time I think I switched the timer on. Moving the clock to 3 am and flicking the timer on ( both at same time ) seemed to do this ?

Hello, I’ve lived in my apartment for nearly 4 years and absolutely hate this water heating system. I never have access to hot water all day and find the booster setting never makes the water super hot just about bearable for a quick Luke warm shower. Please can I kindly ask … what time I set the time at to have water at 5.30 in the evening!? I need to bath my baby at this for bedtime and recently the water is not getting hot until 8pm which is way out to give him a bath. Would it have changed because it’s now summer time ?? Thank you
@yogen8300
@yogen8300 4 месяца назад
Hi, firstly if ur boost is not heating properly even after full 2 hrs, there might be some issue with heating, ( cud have it checked). But if ur water is well hot at 8, then we could try fix that. Since u require heating at 5:30 pm, (which is 10 hours ahead of the normal heating stopping time of around 7:30 am) u need to make the clock ahead 10 hours ahead (summer time). So if it is 8 pm (20 00) now, the clock shud be at 6 am. Do let me know if that worked. Thanks

@yogen8300
@yogen8300 9 месяцев назад
Hi Patrick, since u want the water to be heated ready 2hr 30 min earlier (taking 8 as default heating end time in morning), u will have to take the clock 2hr :30 min early. Assuming its 4 pm (1600) now, for u, ur winter needle mark shud be at 6:30 pm or 1830 now. If u want keep some buffer so that if water is not hot enough even after default heating hours and u want to boost for 10 15 mins, make it earlier same amount of time.
@patrickwalsh2964

Thats the immersion's auto heating time only. And the heated water will be stored in yhe tank until used (depending on weather outside) or naturally cools down without use.

@yogen8300
@yogen8300 5 месяцев назад
Grateful that it was helpful. I dont think there are temperature controllers in thsese boilers by default unless some other device attached externally.. the only other way is the way you have found of heating late and turning off at 8. If it is heating too hot, it could be so that ur heater is pretty efficient, u could do away with auto heating and only boost in morning for 30 mins to 1 hr before 8 am,, suggest to give a try. But do be careful to switch the main switch ON before using booster,, some users have complained about electricity tripping when switching ON when boost is already ON. ( as most of these are old boiler) Or stay with ur plan to avoid risks.

Another point which I came across this morning related to adjusting the timer clock so you save on the full night heating ( 03.00 -08.00 AM ) It was 10.30 AM but the clock was 3hrs slow at 07.30. I thought that by turning the boost dial that the boost would kick in. But as my Water Heater switch was set to off then the boost doesn't work. You have to turn on the Water Heater button and only then will the boost work. The issue is that then the timer thinks it's off peak hours and the off peak light comes on. so you can't use the ( 15/30/45 mins etc boost ) feature. Do you see the same thing ?

This is for a rented property so its going to be a much easier ( hopefully cheaper ) solution for the tenants. do you have thoughts on using the immersion in colder months to keep the pipes from freezing? Any recommended way of doing that? I guess the same thing will apply? Adjust the dial on the clock ( a few hours early ) and leave it on at night and then turn it off in the morning at 8 am or so?

If i am not mistaken, u mean automatic heating system to have heated water all day. This option is not there in this one. These are old models designed for energy bill savings. Though a fully heated water ( 2 hrs boost) does last till evening after morning shower (1 person, if u r out whole day) or ready after minimal boost in evening.
