I'm calling it right now, this game's success depends a lot on it's ANTI-CHEAT ! The FPS genre as a whole is suffocated by cheating, with resounding titles like Valorant and Overwatch 2 investing massively against cheaters (and thankfully keeping up), and games like Counter Strike 2 and Apel Legends being basically unplayable competitively because of cheaters.
But also, on the flip side, many anti-cheats seem to have various vulnerabilities and performance issues. There has to be a better solution than an invasive anti-cheat.
@@Jayfire88 Using programs like auto-aim or detecting enemies through walls, invincibility, etc. I played a game of Valorant that a player on my team said he was going to have "fun" and activated his Cheat in the last round. He took a sniper (Operator) that fires 1 shot per second and fired 5 bullets in an instant, each bullet automatically went to the head of each of the 5 opponents. He was looking at the floor.
@invernofuyu2542 no way! Wow! That's insane. My next question is, why is it rampant in FPS? There are other genres such as fighters, rpgs, strats, racers, etc. I haven't played FPS in the past, I always had a bad connection/lag b4 to play proficiently
Doctor Strange has a shield. So the symbol you thought was the portal symbol (Right mouse button) is his shield he can hold up to defend (you can see him do this in front of Hulk in the beginning of the video). So the 800 is most likely the shield health. You can also see he has the portal as his "F" key ability. So they are two different abilities.
I think Rockets ability to "attach" himself to other players is less of a problem than you think it is. If you ever played Titanfall 2, you can also just jump on the back of a friendly Titan and shoot at enemies while riding a friendly Titan. It was never really a problem. I mean, who knows, but I think there will be no real downsides for either player. If you are the one who gets a Rocket attached to him, you just have some extra shooting power with you, and if you are Rocket and you jump onto someone, and that someone walks somewhere you don't wanna go to, you just jump off the guy and jump onto someone else (because yes, apparently Rocket can attach to any friendly teammate, not just Groot).
I love that Magik is getting a lot of love in video games lately. She was one of my favorite x-men growing up in the 90s and 00s. I was pleased she was a major character in Midnight Suns and I'm stoked she looks so awesome in Rivals!
Honestly so many good characters would work well for this. Im particularly excited to see Nightcrawler and Jean Grey in this game type. And I dont know how theyd make her work, but Kitty is one of my favorite characters so Id love to see them add in Shadowcat
Kitty would prob be a flank that can phase through walls and have some type of control ability. Nightcrawler would probably also be a flank with a movement and combo heavy kit. Jean would probably use telepathic powers and play as either a support or dps with an ult that gives her the ability to use PF.
I’d be down to see your coverage of this, especially if it passes the initial testing of “is it fun”. I’m going to touch it and you’ve got the “real energy” I look for when it comes to my content creators - straight shooting and fair.

just a couple things in case you do any follow-ups on this: -the bar next to doctor strange's health looks like his magic shield, not the portal. the portal ability looks like the one with the arrow -iron man doesn't use his ult with the team-up, it looks like either an enhanced version of one of his normal attacks, or perhaps a special attack specifically for the team-up -there's a 3 over the swing ability on spidey, so i'd assume he can do 3 consecutive swings. if I had to guess the webs under the reticle are normal shooting webs, maybe for slowing enemies great video, i'm not familiar with your content, but maybe an in-depth look/speculation of the abilities we see in this trailer would be cool?

Honestly im not sure how to feel about this game especially on phones. Sure om pc or consoles i see potential but on a touch screen phone. With that said im glad Luna snow is in the game.

Idk why, but I still think the premise and the aesthetic of the game will triumph and at least be fun for a good few months, especially since it's free :D
If this game actually stays alive a much wider roster of marvel icons would be so absurdly fun to play. Hope they do regular hero drops, maybe even multiple at a time. Thor, ultron, thanos, Hawkeye, cap, falcon, Adam warlock, kitty pryde, wolverine, dp, juggernaut, Mr fantastic, human torch, nightcrawler, prof x, Jean grey to name the few most iconic I can think of
Being both a Marvel fanboy and an Overwatch veteran, this got me so excited. Hope NetEase doesnt screw this up. I'd love for some Drewberry Marvel Rivals content, yeah. Also, regarding Dr. Strange, I think the Right Click ability is some sort of Arcane shield, and the 800 bar left of HP is the Shield's HP. The F ability actually seems more likely to be the Portal, at least to me.
I wish they used more of the usual art styles and clothe colors Instead of making their own. Some examples: Hulk is very very different and Magneto is not red. I may be too much passionate to the Cartoon desing of Marvel Snap. Overall I liked It and am Very excited to see gameplays
Yeah I thought the same thing! I think one thing that might salvage this feeling is that there’s likely to be a wide variety of skins for each character and I’m sure they’ll pay homage to classic designs!
I think they are going more into the Moba route with the characters design and classification. Tanks are laveled as such not only for the high sustain they have but also the CC, stuns, or even any mobility skill that lets them initiate teamfights. While supports are more in the area of buff, debuffs, slows, marking enemies and also (but *not* mainly) healings. In mobas many heroes are mixes within categories though, so it seems more likely that Strange is like 60% tank and 40% support, so they put him in the tank role for discard

Luna Snow was supposed to be original game character for Marvel Future Fight till they (Marvel Comic) put her on comic canon main-timeline (earth 616), alongside Luna Snow, there is another Future Fight's original named Crescent and Io (kinda like moongirl and devil dinosaurus copycat) joined earth 616. Shang-Chi, Sword Master, Wave, Aero, Luna Snow, Crescent and others make asian-avengers like called Agent of Atlas. There is also Guillotine, original character from marvel contest of champions that join earth 616. Maybe, there are another original characters that join 616, i am bit lazy to dig in and i quit those two marvel games a long time ago. If only Marvel Snap dare to make original character, they will put it on 616. I actually bit suprised Luna Snow are in Marvel Rivals and i expect it from korean or asian developer want to push her into game. This is why she hasn't been in snap yet cuz Second Dinner is not asian developer (as far as i know) and so far all cards are 100% comic based although some are MCUfied. (This paragraph is not valid cuz i haven't research the developers. Just my theory of Luna Snow)
Think about how much fun it's going to be as they continue to add neat new characters. There are some I'm surprised aren't present already but I suspect they're saving some of the bigger names for down the line?
The reason there always more dps is because they are the easiest to make rather simple to learn and play And most often the most fun and you don’t have to think of your teammates as much as the other roles do
Game looks fun, hopefully it finds it's audience and doesn't go nuts with the microtransactions. Fingers crossed for Ghost Rider, Green Goblin, Ultron, Dr. Doom, Taskmaster, Mystique, Jean Grey/Phoenix, Blade, and Venom for the future.
As someone who has hundreds of hours in Overwatch,I really hope that this game ends up good. And as a support main, I hope they make our class useful 😅 (Rocket main incoming?)
I think it's cool that he's a tank and it kind of makes sense if you use the portal as a pseudo shield because if they shoot into the portal, it will just go somewhere else.
I hope this game works cause this game is gonna be dope for sure just by the art style they went with plus the roster looks legit just for the beginning and I hope they gonna put more heros/villains in the future. I cant wait to try this game with some friends cause this is gonna be fire for a 3rd person shooting game.
I think this "portal" you saw on strange is actually a shield, he does a lot of that in the movies, an orange magic shield, my bet is that is pretty similar to sigma's shield in overwatch

I love the team up attacks, think I'll vibe with loki since I used ecco(forgot how to spell her name) in overwatch. Wonder what the price model will be for this game. Free to play or pay up front. The only character I dont know is Luna Snow lol.
Yep! I played since beta haha for a short period of time I played on a competitive team in tournaments, I was a melee dps main, mostly just Alarak, Kerrigan and Butcher 😆 Rivals will be free to play! But it’s never really ‘free’ so I’m curious as well on that topic haha

Gonna play the hell out if this! I love love the whole team up abilities, overwatch 2 was supposed to do something like that but never follower up on it.
Glad to see other Marvel fans getting excited for Rivals. I genuinly hope that it's wonderful, but I temper my hopes against predatory MTX. Anti-Cheat is also incredibly relevent to a PvP games discussion, I hope they can keep up.

I think it’s a defense class I don’t think they have a true tank class I believe they’re grouping tanks in the defense class which is why you see characters like Doctor Strange in there
So there's 4 abilities per character? There's Right mouse button, L-shift, E and R ? That's all the keyboard buttons? Also, what is L shift button anyways?
