A two-day stakeholder meeting co-hosted by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) concluded successfully on May 30th in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Over 40 participants, comprising of; industry representatives, journalists, and government officials from three COMIFAC member states (Cameroon, the DRC and Gabon), gathered to discuss and agree on the promotion and practice of responsible forestry practices in the Congo Basin. The discussions focused on leveraging forest certification as a tool and indicator in the quest for responsible forest management and promote wood-based industries that source sustainably to drive positive economic transformation in the region.
