A worthy reason but the cultural melting pot that is modern Britain has bred so much quality music of every conceivable genre... And not just in London. Manchester,Bristol,Birmingham & others all have vibrant underground music scenes. The U.K. leads the world in pioneering Bass music in all of its mediums, whether it's jungle, grime, dubstep, bassline etc etc etc. Check out the 'likes' page on my RU-vid channel & you'll see where I'm coming from ;-)

It's called Babylon, a 1980 movie about Caribbean immigrants operating sound systems in England and preparing for a clash. I warmly recommend you to retrieve it and watch it! ;-)
