I rly don't now why so many guys think thats john laurens XD I mean the first thing u see about angelica, is her standing in the doorway with a dress. The real question is did i draw angelica too masculine? Or John too feminine? XDD
When I heard that part the first time I thought "depression?" But I never heard about it that's why I never really pay attention though I always have to think about it when I remember that part...
The main reason it probably hasn't been picked up is because this is a retelling but it might not be fact in real life compared to the stage play as IRL some of the characters in the play were massive dickheads compared to how to stage play but artistic license is important for a good story
His face when Angelica tells him how Eliza loved him and said “this ones mine” is the realization of what he’d done to someone who trusted and loved him unconditionally
Isn't that a flashback to 'Satisfied'? He is shocked because he knew the woman he actually wanted just offloaded him to her sister for no reason apparent to him.
@@Animexxkyubii yess my thoughts exactly... she's never shown this before, this is the first time he hears she wanted him that night, surely he thought she didn't want him when she introduced him to eliza so he was like "might as well" 😭 i love how the artist gave him a reaction to that
I believed he mentioned in the hurricane song that he wrote letters till Eliza fell for him, which can be implied as he didn't know she chose him from the beginning
I think it's also the first time he realizes that he didn't choose Eliza over Angelica that night, Angelica chose Eliza over him. (In the play, anyway.)
Angelica: I live my sister more then anything in this life! Peggy: Really? Angelica: I will choose her happiness over mine! Peggy: sis.... Angelica: Elizaaaaaaa Peggy: Oh wow I see who is the favorite!
People think that they forgot about Peggy because she died, but that's not true. Congratulations comes after the Reynolds Pamphlet. That's well before The Election of 1800. Peggy died in 1801. I just gave you a history lecture. So yeah. Congratulations.
A fool YOU HAVE TWO?!?!? LUCKY!!!!! I HAVE SIX BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!! Edit: scratch six... I lost my older bro in the Navy, SO my step mom had two more kids... and, I’m joining the Navy air force after I graduate
I cry every time Angelica says, "Do you know why?" through "So never loose sight that you have been blessed with the best wife." I don't know why but it's EVER SINGLE TIME.
I haven’t even seen Hamilton yet I feel I could write an essay just from this animation, along with the lyrics. The raw fucking emotion Angelica exudes in ever frame is indescribably amazing; the shift between them is great and I can tell exactly what she’s feeling in any given moment, be it despair, utter rage, desperation, etc.
Angelica: ELIIIIIIIIZZZAAAAAA! Is the best thing in our lives.......... Peggy: Hmm, so ELIZA is the best thing in your life, huh? (fixes hair, changes into red dress) We'll see about that.
This is honestly my favorite animation of this song *Edit:* I love how you put Alex being affected by the line "a million years ago she said to me this one's mine."
Tbh I’ll be honest with y’all I love Angelica more than Eliza bc she will put her happiness aside and let her sister have her love. Angelica to me is the best woman and sister. No hate guys!!
Aryanna Morte You’ll notice in the song Satisfied that Angelica acknowledges her sister would do the same for her saying “If I tell her that I love him she'd be silently resigned He'd be mine She would say, "I'm fine." She'd be lying” Which I feel really shows the sisters’ bond and the fact that one would compromise their happiness for another is really sweet.
But in satisfied she also said that it was because she thought he was only interest in her because of her status. And because she had to succeed and he was poor.
1:38 i LOVE this expression you took such a creative route on this, instead of making her look sad or angry you made a face of pure expression of questioning your own sanity with a pinch of fury
It was one of my favorites! Beautifully drawn and the eyes are so lovely, captured with a hard to name emotion of distress and heartbreak all on the brink of insanity and somehow the artist pulled it all together in this one look. Also the flashback with her hair down was a lovely touch. So much meaning.
I love how you draw Angelica's expressions. The thumbnail was what made me click on the video (besides it being a song I was in the mood to hear atm) and now I'm dead inside.
This escalated from: “Congrats, Alexander Hamilton, Elizabeth Schuyler on marriage” to “Congrats Alexander Hamilton, Elizabeth Schuyler hates you now.”
Angelica: I LOVE MY SISTER MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS LIFE Catherine, Peggy and corallina: awww Angelica: ELIZA IS THE BEST THING IN OUR LIFE Catherine, Peggy and corallina: ....
The way you communicate the jumps through time are so well done! The quick little flash backs to the night Eliza and Angelica meet Alexander, with Angelica walking away is just so good. This song is so sad and your art and editing make it just a gut punch!
(Angelica..) Alexander Congratulations. You have invented a new kind of stupid A 'damage you can never undo' kind of stupid And 'open all the cages in the zoo' kind of stupid 'Truly, you didn't think this through?' kind of stupid Let's review. You took a rumor a few maybe two people knew and refuted it By sharing an affair of which no one has accused you I begged you to take a break, you refused to So scared of what your enemies will do to you You're the only enemy you ever seem to lose to You know why Jefferson can do what he wants? He doesn't dignify schoolyard taunts with a response! So yeah, congratulations! (Angelica..) You've redefined your legacy Congratulations (It was an act of political sacrifice) Sacrifice? I languished in a loveless marriage in London I lived only to read your letters I look at you and think 'God, what have we done with our lives and what did it get us?' That doesn't wipe the tears or the years away But I'm back in the city and I'm here to stay And you know what I'm here to do? (Angelica..) I'm not here for you I know my sister like I know my own mind You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind And a million years ago, she said to me 'this one's mine' So I stood by Do you know why? I love my sister more than anything in this life I will choose her happiness over mine every time Eliza Is the best thing in our life So never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best wife Congratulations For the rest of your life Every sacrifice you make is for my sister Give her the best life Congratulations!
@@untitled5229 Basically, Alexander cheated on Angelica's sister, Eliza. And Angelica starts mocking him (read the lyrics) however Alexander said that it was a sacrifice. Nobody knows about sacrifice more than Angelica. That's why Alexander gave that "Oh shit" face after Angelica said "Sacrifice?"
@@untitled5229 Little bonus of why Angelica is known for sacrifice : She loved Alexander back then before Eliza and Alexander were married. But Eliza said "This one's mine" to Angelica, not knowing that she loves Alexander. And because of that, Angelica steps back and just let Eliza have Alexander

I swear if RU-vid takes this down I'm gonna be so heated because this was made on my birthday and Hamilton is really close to my heart so this can't be took down!!!
Emma C yeah. It’s so sad that so many are getting blocked due to copyright. Like someone named szin made some Hamilton ones that were amazing and they took down every one of them, except the Laurens Interlude and Hamilton in 7 minutes.
It was amazing! A lot of the frames reminded me of how Kouhei Horikoshi does the facial expressions in MHA. This is by far my favourite Congratulations animatic. I'll be looking out for more of you're videos now!
Okay but imagine what these three went through. Sacrificing your attraction to a guy for your sister's happiness, then watching as he throws their relationship away for nothing but a three-month fling, getting a letter from your sister, hearing about it all, then marching away from a man you never loved to confront your sister's husband, who you've always had an attraction to. Listening to him making excuse after excuse after excuse while your sister does her best to gather herself. Watching as she *stays with him to save his reputation.* And he STILL thinks you're there for HIM. Turning away from him, leaving him behind, but she doesn't. Watching her take him back, forgive him after he's sent your nephew to his death, seeing it all unfold. And then, at the end of it all, he leaves her all alone because his pride was just too great to back down from a challenge that would end his life. Angelica and Elizabeth were incredibly strong women, and I admire them for that.
If it can be of any moral support, in real life Angelica loved her husband and even fled with him because her parents were against it, if I'm not mistaken
“You wanna know why Jefferson can do what he wants? He doesn’t dignify school yard taunts with his response.” “So yeah, congratulations.” My favorite line right there
To be fair. Those “school yard taunts” were EXTREMELY ruinous allegations that could’ve done a shitton of damage if they were public. Not saying Hamilton’s response (or the fact that he cheated to begin with) was acceptable, I’m just saying that the initial speculation accusations weren’t something to just scoff at.
(To the groom to the groom to the groom) Protect the bride!! (The bride the bride the bridee) Your sister!! (Angelica Angelica Angelica) Will now kick someone's ass the whole night!!!! (Night night night)
Angelica: I love my sister more then anything in this life Peggy: aww I love you too Angelica: I would choose her happiness over mine every time Peggy: aww your so sweet Angelica: ELIZZAAAA!!! Peggy: and Peggy
Ok but I just imagine Angelica pulling a gun at the end of the song and just yells “CONGRATULATIONS” and shoots a bullet into the ceiling or something like that with the gun in the air as foreshadowing to his death in the duel idk it’s prolly a dumb idea
Please, please, tell me exactly why this comment has only a few likes. Give me a few examples and Hamilton can write the other 51 examples for all I care-
Angelica is the person who, when their sister gets hurt by a boy, heads out the door. When asked about her purpose, she responds, "I'm either going for ice cream or to commit a felony. I don't know which one quite yet, _I'll decide in the car."_ Which I respect beyond what anyone can know.
I love how, whether Angelica is making a smug expression, or angered, or even calm, no matter what face she makes, underneath it you can see the anguish and fatigue plaguing her. It shows just how much this hurt her too.
