A grey day with some Cumbrian drizzle but with a few new trails to explore amongst well known previous routes. Starting at the northern end of Coniston Water and heading up through Lawson Park into Grizedale. After the descent to Parkamoor, over Bethecar Moor back into Grizedale for the Witches Descents to Satterthwaite. Then back up through Grizedale over Bethecar Moor (which was wet and boggy) to complete the descent to the bottom end of the lake. After a brief late lunch break by the river Crake, a short section of main road before branching off into Blawith Common. Bridleways to Torver then cycle track to the north west shores of Coniston Water before reaching Coniston village. To finish, the fun track through the forest by the side of the A593 back to the starting point.
