This is actually a real condition. Not the conjoined twin thing, obviously that's real, I mean the toxic twin dynamic. I'm an identical twin. My parents learned about twin development and went so far as to listen to us tell the exact same story one after the other when we were little. My mom told us it she wasn't so much interested in what happened as what we thought and felt about it, because we were individuals and equally important. They wanted us both to learn to speak for ourselves. They made sure we were in separate classes from second grade onward so we learned how to function successfully on our own, independently from each other. Twins are at a much higher risk of developing personality disorders and illnesses like schizophrenia. One becomes dominant and the other submissive. While an element of that is normal - I have been my twin's protector and been the one to let her have her way, she's very much a princess, I'm very forward and grounded - it can become codependent and stifle personal independent growth. There are examples of toxic twins, like the black British girls, the Swedish freeway twins and the white yoga twins (idk their names they're not hard to find). I'm sure there are males too but I just don't know off the top of my head. They reach a point where at least one has to die. Seriously. One must die for the other to have any shot at a normal life. Parents accidentally cause this by not forcing the twins to be apart and operate independently from a young age. We were called "the girls" a lot but our parents used our names when speaking to us. I'm so grateful for all the stuff my parents did so my twin and I didn't end up dysfunctional and incomplete without the other.

A lot of mad scientist have studied twins. There was a program in South America where some nazi scientist was making twins to study, another of the coast of Africa. Another fascinating thing is how similar twins lives are, even when they're seperated at birth. I'm glad there is only one of me. Nobody looks like me and I lime it that way.😁
@jademoon7938
@jademoon7938 2 года назад
@@CosmicAli_TheObserver Well you're entirely mistaken about no one looking like you, there's zero question you look exactly like several people who have lived in the past and are alive today. Humans just are not unique enough to say "no one looks like you". Yeah they do. You look a lot like a ton of people a there have been a few who are virtually identical to you. Also, there's a difference between twins and identical twins. There are several types. Some are different sexes, different colours, two totally separate eggs that just both fertilized. You're referring to identical twins like me. A small percentage of twins. Those studies about twins being separated, that's totally different than having a twin with you, my life is nothing like my twins. We have different educations, I'm in environment and she's in admin at a school, we have totally different hobbies and lifestyles, live in different cities... People sometimes don't even realize we're twins anymore. When I can't even tell in baby pictures who's who sometimes. You're taking a few anecdotes about identical twins who were separated at birth and making a lot of sweeping assumptions that aren't founded. If the only reason you're happy you don't have an identical twin is because no one looks like you, sorry to burst your bubble, you're mistaken.
@davhot4107
@davhot4107 Год назад
@@jademoon7938 There is an anime show "Kakegurui" where there are toxic twins girls like you describe. One of them is narcissictic and a sadistic, and the other one is so shy that she wears a greek mask in public.
@jademoon7938
@jademoon7938 Год назад
@@davhot4107 I'll have to check that out. Sounds a bit too much like me and my twin lol. My mom is a narcissist and my dad is very quiet and reclusive. My mom started resenting me when I was a baby and got jealous that her mom gave me what she saw as more love than she got, I'm an identical twin but tbh I look exactly like my mom when she was younger, which continued the special treatment from Grandma and scapegoating from my mom. And my twin resented me over me being our grandma's favourite - if you noticed a theme of things that are totally outside my control, good eye - and she started copying the way our mom treated me. So she's a full blown narcissist. Like she recently had a breakdown over being like our mom - a narcissist - and started trying to "fix" it and I tried to tell her she's not as bad as mom, but then she flipped out and I had to tell her, dude, I was wrong, you're exactly like mom and you do need serious help. Like sorry. But it's true. You're kind of a monster. I've always been a daddy's girl. Obviously lol. My grandma and dad are the only two people in the world I could ever say really, really love me. Well my grandma is gone now. I only recently stopped masking ADHD and PTSD (not just from childhood but that's where it starts obviously lol). I'm very quiet. I don't trust people. I mean, I question if my mother loves me, so obviously I have a hard time. Yeah so those two twins in this anime.... Sounding a lot like me and my twin. Ngl I have wished a few times that I was the narcissist and someone else was the scapegoat, just because they seem to live easier, but hearing my sister freak out because her therapist is making her accept that she is a vulnerable narcissist like our mom, so she can fix it... Yeah I'm glad I'm not them. Anyone who can tell their kid they've never liked them or their sister that if they have a baby it'll be "retarded" because I used to do drugs, just to hurt someone, knowing how hurtful it is, and saying it out of rage anyway... I'm sorry but they're just not good people. Twins can't fully escape the toxicity. We were close. My twin has always been obsessed with competing with me and being "better" and I have always told her that it's irrelevant but it makes her mad. Like when she found out she makes less than $25k more than me a year even though she has a master's and I went to college. Oh she lost it. Can't imagine caring so much about such stupid stuff but that's what makes us different people. She's miserable from her own actions. I get miserable thinking about how I've been treated. It's not great lol. Not the family I would've chosen. I'd keep my grandma and dad though. You know what's crazy? My mom is Native and my dad is white. A shaman once told my dad that before this, my dad was a shaman around first contact, and I was his son, and he was teaching me. I went out to gather medicine and a group of white men found me and murdered me. So my dad left his spirit path and just started killing white men he came across in revenge. He said that me and my dad are obviously father and son, but my mom and twin are actually reincarnations of two of the white men, and we were brought here to be a family and learn forgiveness. My mom and sister hate that story because they're white murderers obviously lol but tbh... The way they persecute me.. The way my mom hurt my dad... Rings kinda true ngl lol.

Bought this movie on VHS in England in the 90s from a video stall in the local indoor wool market in Doncaster, if anyone is local they'll probably remember "Titch" (Louie), he had a stall setup there for what felt like the entirety of the 90s and well into the 00s, little dude with thick lensed glasses. I'd go there every Wednesday and Saturday to buy a couple of new horrors to add to the collection. I remember the day I bought it, it was a toss up between a green VHS cover with a monster in a picnic basket or "Rabid Grannies"... I came home with Basket Case because I thought it might be unintentionally funnier than the Troma movie. We watched it a good few times... probably not as much as Evil Dead 2, Braindead or House 2... but, it became a classic among my friends, especially when we were young stoners at about 15-16 years old. Anyways, watched this a million times as a young'en... and literally watched it again with my brother about a week ago as we've been recently going through the Joe Bob Briggs movie marathons on Shudder (with a VPN of course, because shudder is actual garbage in UK when not a single movie on his marathon is licensed...). We fucking loved it on rewatch, especially with Joe Bob explaining little bits-and-bobs along the way, little tidbits of info and trivia. I always laughed at it as a kid, because it was a cheesy horror with a cheesy monster in a basket, but I never realised the actual intentional subtle humour first time. It's like Joe Bob says, a good mix of comedy in horror is about 80/20... because if you go 20/80, you end up with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

I honestly think this film is a really great horror movie. Sure it's got flaws but stop motion gives me an uncomfortable feeling and the story about the brothers is a sad and tragic one. Not that it needs remaking but I would love to see it done like a mix of De Palma, for the psycho sexual aspects, Cronenberg for the body horror and psycho sexual nature and Fincher for his methodical and atmospheric pacing, and ditch all the "comedy". It would make an excellent character study horror film.

Yep, agreed - honest grounds for a remake, not just "Oh, this film was popular 30 years ago, let's cash in!"

I'm not well-learned enough in horror movies to fully understand your comment, but you make just the concept of this movie sound so amazing. If someone remade this film, I'd probably watch it.

Of course Justin’s main concern is a plot hole that leaves out the explanation of the monsters poop.

Ha yeah, that’s kinda how my mind works too! Like, if someone’s taken hostage and tied up in a film or TV show, I always wonder how they go to the toilet. When he was talking about the little guy b ing in the toilet, I pictured him perched on the toilet reading a newspaper that would be massive to him. XD

I think I originally found this movie when I used to really be into dubstep and I'd heard this song by EON called Basket Case that used that line from the movie "What's in the basket? My brother. YOUR BROTHER! HAHAHA!" Eventually I got curious and looked up that line, because obviously it had to be from something. So I Googled it and instantly found the movie. This was like 10 or more years ago. The song was on this dubstep compilation CD called Aural Extacy: The Best of Techno.
