For people complaining that the Uzbeki fighter won, if this were pro rules, he would have. However, under the current amateur rules, that was an indisputable Conlan win. A knockdown in not an automatic 10-8 in amateur these days

Did anyone watch the hole fight? Conlan won, a lot more clean punches. His opponent was throwing wildly at stages but not really connecting. Amateur boxing is points based. He was a good fight and he did drop him with that sweet straight right.

Great performance from Team Ireland's Michael Conlan thus taking Ireland's first ever (Male ) Gold medal in 41 years. Of course Katie Taylor has won the Women's 60kg Gold on five occasions. A great championships in Doha for Ireland.
