Sometimes if the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz are named the same in your modem / use the same password it can sometimes confuse the device.
Prevent your phone from "auto connecting" to your home network (5.0GHz)
Force Close/shut down the App completely (don't just "close" it)
Depending on the strength of the unit/modem you may have to connect it, next to the modem. You can put the unit into "feed mode" and it will give you ample time to connect to it.
Make sure you have "enable location services"
