I spent hours wandering around the Brother (supposed) website and manual for support to do this one simple thing. I didn't dare call Brother because I was so angry I knew I'd say things that shouldn't be said. I watched this video twice, jotted down the steps and DONE! Thank you for filling the huge gap, pothole, left by the company.
This is about the third time I've had this problem and can't remember how to fix it and had to come back and learn again from you. You are a good teacher, who explains things easily and effectively. Thank you!
You are a lifesaver! I have tried multiple sources to connect, for over a week, without success. I applaud you for your super easy-to-follow tutorial and close-up view of the printer control panel for me to follow. No longer frustrated, you are my hero! Now, searching for more of your excellent videos. Many thanks!!
Mahalo from Hawaii!!! I was ready to spend hours of frustration and instead, you helped me not only get it connected but I even printed already using your other video!!! I’m glad I clicked on your video from the get go! 🥇
Thanks a million for this video. I have been using a USB cable for the past three years as I could not connect wireless (I am a computer dummy!) I connected today wireless with your second way of connecting with the password. Please continue to instruct stuff like this. One less wire on the desk. Thanks!
Thanks Eric very informative video. Down here in South Louisiana still recovering from hurricane Ida had to figure out how to set up my Wi-Fi hotspot to the printer so my daughter could do her homework. Video was very to the point and helped tremendously .
Before my son always helped me set up Internet …. But today first time I ordered Tmobile Internet and need connect to my Brother Printer and I followed your RU-vid instructions and it worked 🙏🙏😂😂 Thank you so much
THANK YOU!!! We recently got a new router and days later learned that our Brother printer wasn't working. We finally asked the right question at the right site (YoutTube) and got the answer to our problem from you. First method worked like a charm. Really appreciate your going step by step for those of us who aren't that computer savvy. THANKS! You've got a new subscriber!
Eric, you are a very good person for posting this information. You made my day. I was giving up with the wifi printing until your video helped me get this working. Thank you very much!
I had to use method #2, but it WORKED! Thank you so much for your help. I really needed to get this printer connected quickly and you came to my rescue! 😅
This was amazing!!! Tried using The Brother’s scan & Print app which was useless. This was so easy once I took a chance on what button to press on my router for it was unmarked. Thank you so much!
I had to change my network password and forgot how to do method #1. Found this video. You saved me from a very painful process; my password is very long. Thank you!
Thank u sooooo much!! I had to do the second method and was happy to do so just to make this thing works. I didn’t wanna have to start writing things out by hand. And I noticed every single thing that you ever tried printing out all sudden prints out even though you hit stopping exit now I have a whole stack of crap coming out lol.
4:40 is golden as the printer does not provide a blinking cursor. up/down looks like jibber at first. The rest of the setup is totally intuitive and logical. get to network key and use the up/down to enter password. Thank you!
There are over a dozen or more wifi networks from my neighborhood showing up. I would like to be able to print to some of my neighbors printers. Would this work?
Thank you for such a meticulous instruction. I can't thank you enough. I claim to be a new tech as I was able to connect my HL2280DW to my laptop, printer, cell and even scan stuff besides printing. Bless you.
Hallelujia! I agree with the commenters from 1 year ago ... thank you! I actually DID have to use the cumbersome method #2, which I had tried but didn't understand about the * appearing when a password letter is entered and to go on to the next letter. (why doesn't Brother just call it a password, instead of network key"?) 🙏🙏🙏
I called my isp and he said not to hit that button on my wifi 6 router as it would mess up eveything. I have the wifi 6. Brother MFC-7860DW all in 1 printer. It worked on my old internet but since I went fiber the wifi won't work. Funny thing when its hook up direct to the printer to the wifi router it works. Only thing I can figure I am on wifi 5 now. I set it up and it did print out the info like yours does but my other puter wont print to it by wifi since I went to fiber and wifi 6. I tried everthing. Guess mine is to old for fiber wifi 6 is all I can figure out. I will try some more things....lol I think am screwed for wifi though. I hit that button on my old system years ago and I had to reset all my puters. Thanks Eric. I went the second hard way which is not hard at all. I have the manual and your way did not work for me. I have 4 buttons. But I went by my manual which is Menu 6 then set default to erase everything then Menu 6 2 2 then setup wizard then it took my password fast hit ok and tried printing a test page and it worked on windows 10. After that I tried wifi and boom it worked great like it use to.I'am messing around on a old puter with windows 11 on it and downloaded 10 from bother web site and after doing driver updates on 11 even that printed on it. I bet I got 20 hours on it. I can see by going to default it must have gotton rid of the old stuff. It took 10 minutes the long way but didn't mess anything up either. Thanks much Eric. Hope other see this and not throw out a good printer. I new since it printed wired it was finding out how to set it up. Erase everything was the key for me. Also my report was no wep it was wpa and 2 more which I don't want anybody to see.
Have you ever experienced the brother printer losing connection to wifi when it sleeps? I have an HL-L2360DW and I turned deep sleep mode off, but every time it sleeps it loses connection and I have to manually use setup wizard to connect to my printer each time I print. Any suggestions?
