Ever wonder if granny squares can be connected together instantly?
In this video I'll show how to connect granny squares together as they are made. This technique is easy and quick to learn. It involves making a slip stitch over to another granny square in order to form the connection.
There are many ways to connect granny squares together. Please see my other videos to learn even more ways!
I'm using a size H 5 mm crochet hook for my sample and worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn. Feel free to use any other size yarn and hook for samples.
Any questions, feel free to ask. And please enjoy this video! Donna Wolfe from Naztazia

At first I thought this would be more of a problem than helpful, but I can actually see how it's really helpful to do. Because you do it as you're doing as you are making the product. Thank you

Yep, it's yet another way to connect granny squares together. Might not be the best way for 'every' occasion, but there are times when there might be a granny square variation with picots or some loops sticking out on the last round, that can't be sewn together or slip stitched together, so the only option is to connect as one goes.

Correct and I also find sometimes that when I connect them it's really bulky looking and time consuming. This will take that away.

Those vibrant colors are amazing. I normally make things with neutral colors, but I love how this was put together. So bright and fun! ♥♥♥

This is my favourite method for one huge reason; if I just have a tonne of squares, I get bored of making them before they ever get joined into something useful. This way makes my progress more obvious to my dopamine-seeking primate brain 😂

I need your help. I am working on a granny square blanket. Somehow I missed connecting my corner. Now I am still working on it. How do I reconnect to put in the corner s😢o I don't have to rip out more than 15 rows. Thks Debbie from Savannah,Ga

Anytime there's a connection issue, or a tiny space, or uneven hole, I usually get out my yarn sewing needle and just fix it by making a stitch or two to sew it together. Since it's only a stitch or two, I generally try to fasten off and weave in those ends securely, sometimes adding a drop of fabric glue to ensure that little area doesn't come undone.

I'm seeing that this method sets each square slightly akilter. Off-kilter for most people who are not familiar with an archaic usage.
@naztazia
@naztazia 5 месяцев назад
Yes, it produces a different look than traditional granny squares. It's really only noticeable on mine because I'm using different colors on the last round. Using the same color actually hides that look.
