Peter Greig gave me the clue when he mentioned a job he did on a yacht where he inserted the SSB radio attenna into the Dyneema backstay, worked and no issues.
Personally I think I’d go with another colour or nuance for the cable “sleeves”. Just to make sure for myself or any crew which lines not to pull…! By that I mean something that doesn’t stick out too much, still kind of camouflaging the cables, but makes sure not to be mistaken for rigging.
Yes, using the dyneema is great, no stretch, UV block and a fair degree of mechanical protection and still be flexible. Also discovered Euro plugs for the electrical connections.
Hey Dan. Nice to see you getting on wiyj yourwork.Still stuck in lockdown here, so nothing happening with mine. Shoul have been lifted last Friday, but can't happen while we're still at Level 4. This outbreak is still growing, but seems to be mostly confined to Auckland, so the rest of us are hoping the rest of the country can go to Level 3. The travel lift can operate at Level 3. Not holding my breath though as this Delta variant of Covid is so transmissible. I can't even go to the boat as marina is tight closed!
Must feel frustrating to be so close. Reading the NZ papers it seems as if you might be able to contain the outbreak, fantastic if you can. Delta going strong over here :( Have a Dungeon and Dragons session tonight so not sure I will be able to upload tonight, will give it a go tho. Stay safe.
