In this video, I set out with two of my good riding buddies in hopes of connecting one zone to another! We studied this one on digital maps for a while, and finally the conditions let us make it possible!
Another epic video! Really love how you and muskoka wait up for the whole crew the group I used to ride with would ever stop and hit any features ever! Was pretty lame passing a lot of chutes and jumps! Was usually on the trail or a straight line threw the timber! They was good rides just never slowed down to have any fun… 👎🏽
I run the post forward kit it my sleds, wondering what you did to stop the over steer to the left? I tried and have gave up, just put one in a new 9R and have the same problem 😂 can you please just convince Polaris to sell the parts they run in the assault
Good point on the camber of some handle bars. That one thing I really like about my backcountry. When I stand up my feet are by the drive axle and my steering post and handlebars are in a straight line The snow is looking a little more wet and sticky
I came from a 14 snopro to a 16 axys and have been having the hardest time adapting to the steering position, honestly it stoked me out when I heard there was such a thing. For sure doing that conversion. 🎉
Love the video, always do but thanks again I just finished and am exhausted watching haha Also I wanted to ask you about your tether, I wear mine on my coat and not my wrist, I feel for me that it would get hooked on the bars and too many branches in the UP where I ride so I feel it would get yanked off easily, anyway when you flipped you sled it looked to be wrapped around your bars and you struggled to pull it to stop you track( about the 45 min mark) Is that a concern or what is your reasoning for not hooking it to your coat? Also are your cords longer than s Stock ones? Thanks again, I’m a big fan
i switch back n fort about these tether locations, usually where it on my hand just because can usually pull it during a crash or similar situation, my tether is stock length!
I believe your comments were a reflection of the bar mod; best yet brett; muskoka & one of the guys with him need to hear your advice on drainage saftey; he posted where his buddy fell into a 20 ft deep hole into the water; looking forward to sundays vid...
I've had my post forward kit installed for almost a year now and love it! Had to make a few tweaks because I had v1, but I recommend it to everyone. I can climb like a mountain goat.
The post forward was interesting to see. Usually I hear Polaris guys knocking the ski doo set up but it sounds like you like it on the Polaris. How long did it take to do the install?
@@turcotte16 right on, thanks for the input! I think I need a ibexx high elevation clutch kit. Most of my riding is at 11k+ and I’m only pulling 8100-8200 with the stock P22 weighted for high elevation. How is the adjustability of weights on that clutch, pretty easy to adjust in the field?
Post forward question...you did a "three minute Thursday" video on this a while back and mentioned that for technical/trees, the OEM steering is great, but for jumps and tricks, the post forward puts you in a better position. I know my skill level isn't close to yours, and I'm not a big jumper, just the re-entries, bowties, etc., so how much of a sacrifice is the post forward kit for technical? Not sure that its even worth it *for me* but do want to educate myself.
hey jeff!! so for the moves yiu just described. this post forward kit still is very capable! i’m just meaning in the slow tight and techy stuff it just doesn’t offer the same leverage or geometry as a vertical post, yet it still gets the job done! it’s just one of the things where i noticed any sort of downfall, but the gain i get elsewhere makes up for it!
@@turcotte16 thanks for the explanation..I enjoy the fact that your videos are a solid mix of action, commentary, and teaching...and you have the ability to break things down to simplicity. Crazy how you have 22k followers and tons of comments, but you respond to every one.
@@turcotte16 ya man these new sleds might be light for a snowmobile but sometimes they give you a little reminder.. this ain’t no 200 pound dirtbike your tangling with. 😂
For me personally I don’t care for the angled steering and the camber of the skidoos. It just feels so foreign to me. I prefer the vertical steering post and a more flat bar turn. It’s possible that I’ve just not had a lot of experience with angled steering that provides Camber. I hope Polaris stays a vertical steering for the future :)
no one’s saying they’re doing anything different, this is a post that i’ve put my own blood sweat and tears into for the past 4 years with the help of specialty motorsports, it’s just an option to riders who want this type of feel!
I agree the skidoo steering feels odd but I’m sure if I owned one it would take a couple rides to get used to it and who knows it may feel way better but when I swap with my buddies Summit it’s hard to like, he says the same about my Polaris Different strokes but I bet over time it would be great to be more forward etc
