Connecticut Valley Hospital - Explore/Drive Through 

At its peak Connecticut Valley Hospital was a self-sustaining farm with cattle and crops worked by patients. Also at the South End of the property there are dual reservoirs that were hand dug by patience. At some point in the 1970s the state discontinued patient labor.

At least people are allowed to walk around the property

You were so close to, what I call, the Nameless Cemetery. It's where the CVH patients were buried and they were all given the same, uniform headstone with only a number. If you drive past the veteran's cemetery on your right, a dirt road will soon appear to your left. That will lead you to it. Stones on both sides, and now there's a large plaque naming everyone who's buried there. And if you keep going, you'll end up behind the youth retention center.

I work at CVH, on the units, with the patients. Most patients are housed in that building you see people coming in and out of. Battell Hall. You did miss the building you likely got into last time.

Creepy place. A couple years ago a 21 year state employee reported abuse there and was found dead from a “drug overdose” shortly after.

I'm going to visit tomorrow for the first time.
