Hello, this is Sensor Lab.
Robots use multiple position sensors (encoders).
Two encoders are used in the joints of the collaborative robot.
Six hollow encoders are also used for teaching and shock detection of industrial robots.
We will introduce a method of receiving position data by connecting multiple encoders at once with one cable.
We applied iC-Haus' BiSS communication and demonstrated it by connecting 4 and 6 sensors.

Part 6: Comparing gear-type hollow absolute position sensors and speed sensors
This sensor is mounted on a collaborative robot reducer to sense the final position and is suitable for shock detection, teaching, etc.
As you can see, it is a magnetic sensor used in combination with gears.
It is possible to use it in combination with gears or with a magnetic scale as shown in the following application example, but in this video, it is recommended to use it in combination with gears.
